Lewan announcing decision at 6pm
There was someone posting here a few days ago who claimed to have talked to him recently and reported that Lewan felt he has "unfinished business" at Michigan. I had completely written off his return but then that post made me reconsider just a hair . . . now I'm ever so slightly getting my hopes up.
One of the Texas AM lineman is considering staying (Jake Mathews) LINK and if Matthews starys at AM Lewan should clearly go pro. His value would increase even greater.
3-3-5 til the day I die y'all
Not impossible, just risky. I wouldn't leave guaranteed money like that on the table, and risk another (unpaid) season... that's just me though.
Touchdown Michigan!
He's gotta be gone. The class he came in with is graduating this year. Denard, Roh, etc.
Can't see a guy sticking around when the majority of his classmates are leaving and he has a top 10 pick in the NFL draft pretty much secured.
He's riding a donkey twosie off into the sunset. So long, sweet moustache tattoo'ed prince.
Good luck in the League Taylor.
HELLO HEISMAN!
Good luck to him whatever he chooses to do. I saw some Mock Drafts having him picked between 7-10 in the first round after the match-up with Clowney. So whatever he decides to do, it looks like he'll have a bright future.
I have really enjoyed his progression-- at least as I percieved it-- from "Is He really that good" his first year to "I guess he is" the second to "Actually, better" his third year. If the Colts can some how, some way, get him as their new LT I'll be stoked. Since they pic 24th, that will never happen. I always have this line from the Anthology of Interest: "So that's what things would be like if I'd invented the fing-longer. [Sigh]. A man can dream though. A man can dream..."
"It was open," Toussaint said. "I can't compare this hole to any other holes because I can't remember that but it was a huge hole."
Here's hoping he emulates his idol Jake Long and comes back for his senior season.
My vision: Two hats. One has the NFL logo, the other is Michigan. He puts on the Michigan hat and everybody shouts, jumping up and down, and congratulating each other. Best recruiting job to date.

FFFFFFFFFFffffffff.
Disgruntled former moderator. I got a lot of problems with you people!
We got alot out of him. Happy with either decision. Ask yourself, if your friend got an amazing job offer... Would you be a douche to him for accepting?
Its called a royale with cheese
Quick! Someone steal his twosie and write a ransom letter.
Dear Taylor,
You will get your beloved twosie back at the end of the 2013 season if you stay.
Sincerely,
Anon

the mgoblog community should band together and buy this man a twosie made of solid gold if it will get him to stay.
It's been a lot. Its been a roller coaster that for some reason seemed like it would never get good. But you know what? We kept fighting. It's like that old saying goes, "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions." -David Molk
Remember where BKFinest went when he did that? Oh well, at least you speak the language.
Here's to hoping you're right.

i want him to stay, but that's just plain selfish, so i won't be dissapointed if he leaves. go get your millions, lewan. you've earned them.

We think this will be streamed by mgoblue.com or some other outlet? (although we will quickly know via twitter and the like)
I've moved from the "i'd be shocked if he came back" to the "i'd be surprised, but not shocked..." camp. Seems like a kid who loves college, has done all of his homework on the decision, including, I assume, talking to the likes of Jake Long and others who may have both stayed and come out early. Taylor seems like a mature young man who can grasp the notion of "you get a 2nd chance at a senior year in college and all it entails, but then that's it, never again can you have this experience".
He'll be missed if he leaves, but nothing but deep gratitude can be felt for the years he gave the team and university.
we'd all prefer that he stay b/c it's better for the team next year. but in reality, recruits want to see that we're putting high level talent into the NFL and in the long run doing so assures us more long term success. and the other bottom line is that lewan was an awesome player, helped the team, allowed us to enjoy the team more and now deserves to redeem the spoils of his efforts.
I wish Taylor Lewan nothing but the best in whatever he decides to do. His years of service to Michigan have been excellent and his play really has earned him that very high projection in the NFL draft, which is an honor for both the program as well as Lewan. If he does decide to stay ultimately, then best of luck on what would then undoubtedly be an excellent senior campaign.

Where is he announcing? Is this like a nationally broadcasted thing like on ESPN, locally like on mgoblue.com or just something we'll have to catch on the net?
Strength equipment is expensive and guarantees you nothing. A strong will is free and can give you everything you want.
Wisconsin is recruiting him to play QB for the Badgers.
Yes I got him a gift. He had a kidney stone. You piss a rock through your pecker, you deserve more than just a pat on the fucking back.
Go punch donkeys in the NFL
If I tell you it's Easter, you better start looking for eggs.
Some folks call it a sling blade, I call it a kaiser blade.
Hoke should use some of his weekly recruiting points to try and get him to stay.
Also, he should use some on Stefon Diggs.
I'm hungry. Time to eat.
By all means I think he's leaving. He gave his mother his helmet after the bowl game, and seemed to talk about having a good ride while here. His stock probably couldn't get any higher either. However, this press conference gives me hope. Recently it's become more common for guys to hold these press conferences to inform their school that they are staying (Burke, Barkley). Lewan sticking around would give the team a moral boost going into the offseason and into next year. Also, with Braden looking to be ready to step in next season it could allow Schofield to go back to guard where I thought he played very well last season. I do know that Taylor loves this university, evidenced by how visible he is at major university non-athletic events. Maybe, I'm just trying to convince myself of the impossible, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if he stayed.
Either way, I loved watching Lewan progress over the best three seasons. Best of luck in whichever endeavor he chooses.
Good luck at the next level Taylor. Thank you for all you have done for Michigan.
Let's just say he stays. How does that change the perception of next year's offense? Chances to get to the Big ten Title game?
To me this is a huge decision for next year's team and means a much much more productive offense. Therefore increases our chances to play for a championship.
"Shiny. Let's be bad guys."
But as a Redshirt Junior he'll leave with a degree and would be among the best decorated M Lineman in history. I think more importantly though in making his decisions...he's had some pretty close calls with injuries and has been pretty banged up throughout his career.
The ULTIMATE tragedy would be if he came back, got injured, played less than standard Lewan level and gets drafted in the 2-3rd round (or not at all). I want him to stay, but I want even more for him to succeed at the next level and not wonder what if, and cast self doubt in costing himself a career.
Spread your WWWings and FLY awaaaaayy. If you really love something, sometimes you just gotta let it go.
Thank you very little.
Some good points, but really? You rather see him succeed at the next level than play for Michigan? Sure there is a chance he could get hurt next year in college. There is a chance he could get hurt walking up to the podium on draft day too or in his combine workouts or any other place. Not to discount it, but that is just a part of life.
I'm not saying he should stay. He has to do what's right for him. But there is no way I want him to leave. I would rather he played for Michigan, but will be very happy for him if he chooses to go on to the NFL.
"Shiny. Let's be bad guys."
but there is something to be said for enjoying one last year of college. He will get his millions this year or next. How many chances does a person get to be a broke ass college student. Whichever decision he makes will be a good one, I wish him luck either way.
And predict that he will be getting a really REALLY nice twosie soon.

We have a 50/50 chance of keeping him. No but seriously, best luck to him at the next level.
Go make your money big man, you've earned it.

Everything says he's gone, and in reality that's almost certainly the right thing for him.
But I'm in this for me. STAY, GODDAMNIT.
If I was in Lewan's shoes, how could I pass up one more year of crushing donkeys and riding around in the twosie around campus??
He's staying. The return of BKFinest was an omen

I think he stays. A few days ago Sam Webb had a caller on who knows his dad and thinks he's staying. I know ... all the callers may not be legit but I am going enjoy my wishful thinking for a few more hours.
And when we play as a team, when the old season is over, you and I know it’s going to be Michigan again. Michigan!
