I think you mean second 4000-3000 performer.
Lets hear it for Coach Rodriguez!
No, I think he means 4000-3000 performer THIS SEASON! HE16MAN!
He16man makes me instinctivley say this without the "s". Now what does that sound like to you? It has put my mind in the gutter since I first saw it.
While what RR/DR have accomplished thus far is very impressive, stats by no means mean championships. See Hawaii and Houston as exhibits A and B
What does Sparty know about winning championships?
I think they've watched enough Michigan games to have a vague, albeit vicarious understanding
any sense at all if our coach was June Jones. Rodriguez is not a "scheme" guy. The performance of his players leads to big wins in big games.
While what RR/DR have accomplished thus far is very impressive, stats by no means mean championships. See Hawaii and Houston as exhibits A and B
That's about the worst analogy I've ever seen.
I agree...we should get Denard to change his number to 15 so that this works better! :) Plus, then we can all join the PEN15 Club!!
Wait, you didn't join in fourth grade with the rest of us?
uh, that was just me? never mind then.
If this is what Denard can do as a sophomore, imagine what he will do as a senior!!! All that time with the mastermind that is Rich Rod, I can only imagine.
...Coach Rodriguez really does bring a decided schematic advantage.
Plus, by then we will likely have a solid defense to go along with it. Just think how many yards our offense could put up if our defense gets 3-and-outs all the time. We could potentially see 1000 yards....in one game...by one team.
That post couldn't have sounded more terrified if I could actually see the sweat pouring from your greasy forehead.
Now you want to be rational.
Tell you what. You go write Tate Forcier a nice apology for the other thread where you implied he should have committed suicide, and then write a nice apology to the rest of the MGoBoard for the huge number of incredibly abrasive posts you've made in such a short time, and THEN go ask NotaBlueFan for a primer on how to be an intelligent, generally well liked and respected poster on a rival's message board, and then we'll talk.
If I could I'd plus you. When I went into the bar this weekend to catch 15 minutes of the IU-Indiana game there was one lone wolverine besides myself, he had to be in his 80's. When I walked in OSU was losing and the wolverine was minding his own business and 8 or so OSU fans surrounded him chanting in their drunken bourbon street induced stupor "F*ck Michigan". I told them all to piss off which they did when confronted with someone their own size. An older OSU couple came over and apologized saying "we're so sorry, not all of us are like them, can we buy you two a beer?"
It's sad when real fans need to apologize because of their dickhead fanbase.
CAPS LOCK = SERIOUS
Forcier and Gardner are just as capable as Robinson
TP gets hurt and your back to punting and hopping the O makes a mistake at there own end and you can kick FG all game.
If DR is 85% of UM 's O. TP is 80% of OSU's. thoses are the worst RB's I've ever seen at OSU.
Yes UM dose need a D and hopefully in time they can get back to old form. And let's be honest everyone was projecting doom and gloom after T. Wolf went down and now UM's way above everyone projections and it's only going up.
We almost beat you last year, and if it weren't for Forcier's 5 turnovers we would have. We moved the ball all game long, and our D came up with some huge stops.
This year, we have dilithium, you should be afraid. This year we have quarterbacks, plural, you guys do not. Better keep Pryor healthy or you may just eat those words there buddy.
+1 for "Coolers. Poop."
Again, please spell your name right. It is GRAY in the United States which includes Ohio. Go to TUOOS's website or wikipedia if you need help. It is typically spelled GRAY in the USA and not GREY....TUOOS uses GRAY. Damn
Time will tell. One game at a time. GO BLUE!
Seriously now! What football team does not grow concerned when their quarterback gets hurt. Really does Joe Bauserman get you excited? I didn't think so. So let's drop the whole argument that our quarterback may get hurt. So far I am fairly certain he is a whole lot more accurate that #2 at OSU. Tell Brandon Saine or Dan Herron (I refuse to call that kid Boom) to start running the ball, then come on our board and talk crap.
Also while I am on my rant, YOU, an OSU fan is questioning our competition? REALLY? Marshall (1-4), Ohio (2-4), Miami (3-1), Eastern Michigan (haven't won in forever), Illinois (2-2)...so with all that there clear as day, you have beaten 1 team with a winning record.
In your words "Very Bad"
Michigan's opponents - UCONN (3-2), ND (2-3), UMASS (4-1) (yes I know, FCS, but still better than EMU or Ohio, and probably Marshall), BG (1-4), Indiana (3-1).
There are no world beaters on that list, but "very bad" would not be a good description, maybe sub-par?
With all that being said, coming onto a Michigan board, telling us how dependent on a QB we are, is ridiculous.
Go back to your hole, and just worry about your game this week.. Something tells me you have your hands full.
and OSU has played who? Miami? Please, it's been almost 10 years since they were relevant. Tressel has taken all of Pryors huge physical advantages and basically thrown them away making him much less effective than he could be. You don't think he looks at what Denard is doing and somewhat regrets going to OSU? Keep in mind you didn't win by much last year even with a fumble in the endzone and 4 INTs. What are you going to do when Denard is out there? Good lord, you struggled with Illinois. See you in November. We'll be ready.
Isn't it time to go unload your beer truck? Or are you working the deep fryer today?
keyboard covered in barbeque sauce, ranch dressing crust on the mouse, 3 crushed cans of moutain dew code red next to monitor. from his mouthbreathing standpoint though, it is hard to claim victory over the college football universe with 13 wins in 2.5 years.
Listen son, I know you think you're "totally burning those Michigan assholes, brah!" with your comments, but you're really just embarrassing yourself and your fanbase. If all you have to contribute are these immature, trite taunts, then I can direct you Freep.com, mLive, ESPN.....well there are dozens of places where your type of 8 year bravado is acceptable and probably even welcome. But here, this is where the grown-ups talk son, understand? This place, this....this isn't for you. Sorry buddy.
for 7:43 in the morning. tell me, son, did the caps lock break on your Colecovision?
You know it causes brain damage.
Rich Rodriguez has been my favorite coach ever since he took over at West Virginia. Even as a Michigan fan I used to love watching West Virginia games and seeing that offense roll along. When he was hired at Michigan I think I was one of the happiest people about it. I envisioned someone like Denard doing all these things in my head and now I am actually seeing it. It is amazing.
I no longer look forward to watching West Virginia play. With Gino Smith they look like any other team. A pretty good team but not much fun to watch any longer. As a casual fan I like watching Texas Tech with Mike Leach, Auburn, SMU, Georgia Tech, Air Force, etc. Watching something different is fun. I don't really like watching Alabama and USC Pro Style offenses, I can see that on Sunday.
This was a gutsy hire made by Bill Martin, Dave Brandon & company.
We RichRod fans have suffered through the lean years, but now he has every team in the Big Ten afraid of his team. And this is just the beginning!
Dave Brandon had nothing to do with the RR hire. Just sayin'
wasn't Brandon on the search committee? I thought I'd read somewhere that he was.
I remember when he came in down here at Clemson, what he started with Danztler. When he left for WV, Clemson's offense went stale. Bowden just couldn't make the little tweaks here and there to keep it ahead of the defenses. WOO Rich!
Is Blue Ridge the HS of your avatar? I'm currently in Taylors. Good to see some other M fans so close down here... although I think Clarence Beeks is in Spartanburg, too.
Yes they are! +1 for you, I'm up 290 North of Greer. If you ever see a blue Jeep Cherokee Sport with M tags, chances are it's me. GO BLUE!
It's taken me awhile, I'm still old school O and a punishing D. I finally came around due to his off the field personality and success. But Damn I want my D back. Bitching and moaning but D. Warren (CB) T. Wolf (CB)and the light to go on for Big Will and were only really a Safety away from having a very respectable D.
"Ok guys just keep them to around 21 and any turn over's we get will be icing on the cake for the 40 were going to put up on the score board."
There was too much talented recruiting for this team to fail. I knew he would eventually turn it around.
It all comes down to "just win baby" as everyone's been saying around here. We said the same things after the first four games last year. I think it's safe to say that if the offense stalls out and we lose three or four games in a row his name will be coming up in the hot seat talks again. I don't think we see that happen, but with this defense anything is possible.
But yes, Rodriguez is one of the best offensive minds in college football at this point, and to get rid of him would be the worst thing for the program. Congrats coach, you've once again created an offensive juggernaut! Now shore up the D and we'll be on to something.
I mean, I think things like this-
I mean, really, it's been 5 weeks since we heard anything about a hot seat
Has everything to do with being 5-0. We'll see if everyone feels the same way Saturday night.
but even playing them respectably close should be enough to keep things quiet for now,
Is absolutely insane. If we lose by 1 point in quadruple overtime, this board and everywhere else will be nuts, and it'll be a complete shit-storm, with us heavy underdogs to Iowa next week, possibly setting up 2 losses in a row, with a bye-week after that should be two weeks of hell if that happens.
I think we should win at home this week. And 6-0 beating MSU and ND, with wins to be had, things are looking pretty good. But to think we've weathered the storm yet....if we lose Saturday, we may have just been in the eye of the hurricane.
Beat the Spartans, please.
I realized how big it was that RR ran out to get Lewan out of the game before he was ejected and held out for this game. That was huge
I was really surprised by the hire of Rodriguez, considering the personnel Michigan had on the roster. I assumed that T. Pryor was going to commit after Rodriguez was hired, and was really concerned when he did not. Would we have gotten Denard if Pryor had committed? Don't know, but I sure am glad we've got Denard Robinson to represent the Michigan program on the national stage.
I'm sure the Defense will improve as recruits see that the offense will score points. After that it's up to the coaches to prepare them... I like what I've seen thru the first couple of years. I can't wait to see what the future brings.
I had the opportunity to hear Coach speak at an event in Lansing on the day the NCAA sanctions were announced. Rich seemed like someone who had taken his punches and was ready to swing back, knew that he finally could. The team he inherited was over-matched, and had to be built back up. And now he was ready to go on the offensive.
He seemed more optimistic about this year, in years past he tempered expectations, this year he was ready to unleash hell.
I have no photoshoping skills, but the Face Rod is making in Blueinsouthbend's post would be perfect with this:
"On my signal, unleash hell"
...Keep on a rolling.
I hope this doesn't sound too sappy.
I was one of the people who didn't like the hire of Coach Rod. I am old school and I like the pro-style offense but was unhappy with the conservative play calling of Coach Carr. I thought the spread was a gimmick because I didn't know better. Also, I was worried about the man who would turn his back on his school. But I was taught that you always support your school and remain loyal. Even though, the last 2 years were tough, I still supported coach.
It was through this board that I realized alot of things. I want to say that I am happy that I was wrong, especially wrong about the man. I was floored by the story of him in the hospital and Brock's story. Also, I have never been so excited about a Michigan offense and even if we lose, I still think he should get another year.
We have a convert here people.
During the search, I wrote the pre-expose version of Jim Carty and suggested RR. He wrote back that it would never happen. I've had respect for him all along. I think the "hot seat" is very close to being officially non-existent at this point. For the most part, a coach with the track record of RR has to be allowed to have his own seniors on his team before a "hot seat" should even be deemed possible.
Hopefully, it is all moot by the end of the season.
Hip hip...hip hip...hip hip...
I've been a supporter of RR from day one. It was a tough couple of seasons, but it's turning around. It looks as though we'll make the 8 win season this year that I expected, plus he's brought out the talent that Denard possesses. He seemed much more at ease the beginning of this season, even after the media colonoscopy he received.
a top 10 offense to last years middle of the pack offense.
Call me when you fall off your wall. I know youre a sparty fan and when your team falls this weekend you know where to find me
It's unfortunate that we had so much turnover in the secondary. If not, we would be a top 10 team and a legitimate Big Ten and BCS contender.
I also believe that if Mallet would have stayed, RR would be smart enough to not call all kinds of QB draws but would throw the ball all over the yard. Look at what he's doing at Arkansas. I think our offense would have looked the same way.
I think that once this NCAA inquiry is officially over, we will all be able to breath a sigh of relief about his job stability.
like many of his brethren, is suffering from that malady known as fear. Buckeyes fear what the future holds... and they should.
The Dinosaurs had a great run, but thanks to an asteroid, their run ended. The Buckeyes have had a great run as well, but just like the Dinosaurs which they imitate... that run is coming to an end. This time it won't be because of an asteroid, but because of a force of nature known as Denard Robinson.
You see Buckeye... Denard's influence extends beyond the playing field. He is producing excitement throughout the fabric of College Football. Michigan may not be back, but the perception is that it's well on it's way. This is starting to resonate with those 4 and 5 star recruits that you speak of.
This season may not produce a Championship for Michigan. It may not even produce a win over Ohio State. However, it's laying the foundation for the renaissance of Michigan football.
Last year at the game, there were Buckeyes holding up signs that said something like.. "We love that you are the coach Rich Rod" "Don't go anywhere Rich Rod". Buckeye nation is going to live to regret those sentiments.
Buckeyes like Spartans, are whistling past the grave yard.
These last two years have humbled us as a spoiled fanbase. It has strengthened my love of this school, and every win means that much more.
Opposing fans want this regime to fail at all costs because they are scared. Their day is coming. Napalm in cleats.
we have to beat state, it wont matter if it's close. The critics will start to open their mouth very wide if Michigan loses saturday.
has done thus far, however, I still think that these next couple of games have huge implications for the rest of the season and our recruiting for that matter. If we come out on top against State that puts us at 6-0 with a good shot at beating Iowa at home, giving us two quality wins back to back. GO BLUE!!
The fact that you are okay with us losing to state as long as we keep it respectably close, just so we don't hear anything about RR's job security is beyond sad. You are more concerned with RR's national image and us keeping him as a coach than how Michigan actually performs as a team. I don't know about you, but there's no way I'm going to be happy this weekend unless we beat State. Losing to them 3 years in a row is terrible, and I don't much feel like sitting around listening to all of those arrogant State jerks talking about how they own the state after beating us 3 years in a row, despite the fact that they had a losing season last year including their bowl game and two of those wins against us were against 2 of the worst Michigan teams in our history.
Let me be clear, though, in saying that I support RR as well. I know that people on this site are extremely touchy when it comes to RR. Despite the fact that he's just our coach and not our program. I see our program absolutely needing to keep him around if we don't want to fade into obscurity for the next decade. The point I am just trying to make is let's be a little bit more concerned about our team and their performance rather than having to hear about RR's job security from the media.
Yea, that just happened! I'm gonna pour two tall, frosty glasses of beer: one for me, and one for RichRod as a toast to his genius. However, if he doesn't show up in an hour, I'm drinking them both.
And one for my homies.
