Lemming: Partridge hire makes Michigan odds on favorite to land Gary

Submitted by BlueCube on

Tom Lemming calls the hire of Partridge a "brilliant move" and says Michigan is now the "odds on favorite" to land 2016 5 star defensive tackle Rashan Gary who he calls a difference maker and is currently the composite #2 player in the country.

A brilliant move by Michigan to hire Chris Partridge HC of Paramus Catholic,NJ. Not only is he a good coach but he also has the number one

Player in the country for next year Rashan Gary 6'5"290 DT. The Wolverines immediately become odds-on favorite to land The difference maker.

Did Lemming indicate whether the hiring of Ty Wheatley made an impact on where his son may play?  Curious to know if that may be a factor, however small.

The hiring at least got TJ to visit. I think the final impact remains to be seen, but the fact that the kid came to see a school that isn't in his named top 5 (3?) this close to signing day is huge. Anyway, this hire will at least earn us a visit.

If we can add a few big names like Gary in the next cycle, then all we need to do is build a wall around Michigan. There are like 10 four stars or better in state for 2016, we have to stop losing out on the talent in our backyard.

It's nice to have a talent rich year, but unfortunately there is another legit school within the friendly confines of Michigan.  That hasn't been the case in the past.  Let's hope the Narduzzi departure starts to expose some flaws in that defense.
