Yeah, I don't get the whole Beyonce love either. I mean, I wouldn't kick her out of bed or anything, but when it comes to famous hot chicks, she's not near the top of my list. And it's not because I'm racist either - I love Penelope Cruz and she's not a white.

Penelope Cruz appears to me to be white. She's also from Spain, thus likely white and European.

Admittedly, this can be a confusing area. My g/f is Peruvian, and she almost certainly has both Spanish and native American heritage, with perhaps some african heritage as well. Most of Latin America is a big mix of races. Given a governmental census, she had to mark "White hispanic" or "Non-white hispanic". She had no clue which to mark. I was no help either.

Penelope, however, is not from Latin America. She's white unless you know something I don't.

I would imagine they are the same thing. Radio controlled and activated/deactivated only when they want. Can you imagine kickoffs with these lights on? It'll be amazing. And if they're maize or blue, the stadium will probably be able to be seen from space. It'll be that awesome I think. Let's hope I'm right.

If they are as nice as the Coldplay ones, they are expensive.  I found an article that said it cost 400,000 pounds/night for the bracelets.

Here is the website for Xylobands:

They look really cool and for orders over 10,000 they can have your message on the band! Do they work after the show is over?

National Anthem flyovers have always been a celebration of our military. I know that cutbacks have forced this and that nobody will care as long as it makes a lot of noise, but civilians flying old Soviet jets makes me have a sad.

The teaser posted by Chewer D looked pretty cool, so I went to their site to see who was doing the flying actually -

Actually, it's a good mix of retired USAF and Navy pilots, as well as reserve officers, one active duty officer and a few civilians, one of whom is apparently a highly-regarded CEO in the banking industry. It's an interesting mix really.

Interesting maybe, but not a fitting tribute to our military since they're not on active duty or flying U.S. military aircraft. It's like a retired USAF pilot flying a Delta flight over the stadium. I'm sure nobody will notice though because WOOO BEER LED JETS.

Shouldn't they be P-38s, in honor of Tom Harmon?

Not noisy enough, I know, but if they are going to be honoring Harmon during the pre-game (because of the "legends" jersey thing), I can't imagine anything more appropriate than a P-38 flyover--(a) it's the plane that Harmon flew during WW2, and (b) they are amazing looking vehicles, even to somebody who knows nothing about military aircraft.

There are only about 9 flying P-38s, and I don't think any of them are based near Michigan.

I agree it would have been nice, but it's a rare aircraft. I was hoping we would ask the Yankee Air Force to do a flyover in their B-25 again.

Our military rarely clears stuff for civillian usage.  There are some designs from WWII you still need a clearance to get the full blueprints of, in part due to paranoia and in part due to laziness.  Plus even if you could get say an old F-100 Super Sabre or something of that nature, an American jet from the same era as the MiG-17, no one operates them, so good luck getting parts, whereas countries are still building new MiG-17s for sale to third world warlords.  Basically anything in active use by America or our allies won't be cleared for civillian sale and good luck getting parts for anything out service.

I'll agree with the other, something from the Yankee Air Museum or Commenorative Air Force would have been better.  Give me a call Brandon, maybe my wife can score us an overflight of Reaper drones or something.  Actually that won't work, since the onboard computer might ID Nix as an enemy armored vehicle and launch a Hellfire.
