I wouldn't mind metallic, but they'd have to be maize. Blue is my favorite color, but since maize <errrrrr> yellow is bright, it looks great on television.

Final Fours, Sparkle-bracelets, and Beyonce'.... who needs Football!!!!!!!
Prediction: Beyonce 27 - Notre Dame 13

Not digging the Beyonce.
September 5th, 2013 at 10:13 AM ^
Hmmm, born without ears and eyes? That's a bummer.
Watch her perform "Your Sex is on Fire" on the YouTubes and see if that doesn't change your mind really quickly.

Beyoncé is ultra hot. I think she and Gabrielle Union are the hottest black ladies.
September 5th, 2013 at 12:39 PM ^
I'd take 47 year old Halle Berry over either of them.
September 5th, 2013 at 12:54 PM ^
Halle is still hot for sure, but I love me some Gabrielle and Beyoncé.

Penelope Cruz appears to me to be white. She's also from Spain, thus likely white and European.
Admittedly, this can be a confusing area. My g/f is Peruvian, and she almost certainly has both Spanish and native American heritage, with perhaps some african heritage as well. Most of Latin America is a big mix of races. Given a governmental census, she had to mark "White hispanic" or "Non-white hispanic". She had no clue which to mark. I was no help either.
Penelope, however, is not from Latin America. She's white unless you know something I don't.

but the last time my "sex was on fire", back in college, I paid a visit to the clinic at WMU for some free antibiotics.
Just sayin'

I'll be so loaded by then, I won't care.
September 5th, 2013 at 10:19 AM ^
Yet another reason I enjoy sitting in the endzone. You can't hear the band from there when they play stuff like this.
At least when it is something that I'll enjoy I can follow along if I concentrate on it.
September 5th, 2013 at 11:45 AM ^
I bet she smells phenomenal.

"DOWN IN EVERYWHERE!"
September 5th, 2013 at 11:41 AM ^
Maybe different in person or with better video, but that doesn't look very impressive. The pom poms are much better. Serious
September 5th, 2013 at 4:15 PM ^
and it would be fantastic. Seizures will be had.
September 5th, 2013 at 4:47 PM ^
OMG. Could you imagine what it would look like if they begin to flash during Hail to the Victors??!?? My head will asplode. I've seen some pretty cool sh-t but that will top them all. A bracelet to rule them all. . .
September 5th, 2013 at 5:15 PM ^
Yes, thank you. I do like that. Maybe I'm too influenced by flashing colors and loud noises, but I'm not afraid of indulging the neanderthal within me. The pom poms were cheesy but looked awesome in the stadium, this looks like the next step.
September 5th, 2013 at 1:31 PM ^
their sound made them seem like a U2 cover band. Seeing that video confirms it.
NTTAWWT.

If they are as nice as the Coldplay ones, they are expensive. I found an article that said it cost 400,000 pounds/night for the bracelets.
Here is the website for Xylobands:

They look really cool and for orders over 10,000 they can have your message on the band! Do they work after the show is over?

National Anthem flyovers have always been a celebration of our military. I know that cutbacks have forced this and that nobody will care as long as it makes a lot of noise, but civilians flying old Soviet jets makes me have a sad.
September 5th, 2013 at 10:34 AM ^
The teaser posted by Chewer D looked pretty cool, so I went to their site to see who was doing the flying actually -
http://www.blackdiamondjetteam.com/
Actually, it's a good mix of retired USAF and Navy pilots, as well as reserve officers, one active duty officer and a few civilians, one of whom is apparently a highly-regarded CEO in the banking industry. It's an interesting mix really.
September 5th, 2013 at 11:54 AM ^
Interesting maybe, but not a fitting tribute to our military since they're not on active duty or flying U.S. military aircraft. It's like a retired USAF pilot flying a Delta flight over the stadium. I'm sure nobody will notice though because WOOO BEER LED JETS.
September 5th, 2013 at 4:32 PM ^
Honoring the pilots and service is great versus the aircraft that they are in. IMHO
September 5th, 2013 at 10:36 AM ^
These guys are ridic. Makes me mega jealous
September 5th, 2013 at 10:49 AM ^
Are there no surplus American planes available?
September 5th, 2013 at 11:35 AM ^
We could have had P-51 Mustangs but we had to give the noodle money back.
September 5th, 2013 at 12:52 PM ^
Shouldn't they be P-38s, in honor of Tom Harmon?
Not noisy enough, I know, but if they are going to be honoring Harmon during the pre-game (because of the "legends" jersey thing), I can't imagine anything more appropriate than a P-38 flyover--(a) it's the plane that Harmon flew during WW2, and (b) they are amazing looking vehicles, even to somebody who knows nothing about military aircraft.
September 5th, 2013 at 6:58 PM ^
There are only about 9 flying P-38s, and I don't think any of them are based near Michigan.
I agree it would have been nice, but it's a rare aircraft. I was hoping we would ask the Yankee Air Force to do a flyover in their B-25 again.

Our military rarely clears stuff for civillian usage. There are some designs from WWII you still need a clearance to get the full blueprints of, in part due to paranoia and in part due to laziness. Plus even if you could get say an old F-100 Super Sabre or something of that nature, an American jet from the same era as the MiG-17, no one operates them, so good luck getting parts, whereas countries are still building new MiG-17s for sale to third world warlords. Basically anything in active use by America or our allies won't be cleared for civillian sale and good luck getting parts for anything out service.
I'll agree with the other, something from the Yankee Air Museum or Commenorative Air Force would have been better. Give me a call Brandon, maybe my wife can score us an overflight of Reaper drones or something. Actually that won't work, since the onboard computer might ID Nix as an enemy armored vehicle and launch a Hellfire.
