I can't find it in an article, but after the Heat/Cavs game last night, Manny said that LeBron sought him out singularly to offer advice and encouragement. Manny appreciated the gesture and the comment.

I know everyone here hates Lebron, BUT IMO he has some class. Sure, he made a mistake on national tv for 1 hour but, is that not forgiveable? He didnt cheat on his wife, shoot himself in the leg, or kill a bunch of dogs. Instead, he gives advice to up and coming players and gives them confidence when they seem to be near the bottom of the hill. I solute you Lebron, and thank you for leaving Ohio. (I was raised in Ohio. Recently went back this past Christmas to visit family. It's hilarious to see how angry Ohioans are at Lebron. Similar sentiment towards UM)

On his way to that dunk Manny looked like Tyrone Wheatley in the '93 Rose Bowl when he (IIRC) ran between two guys who both appeared to have reasonable angles on him. Impressive.

Funny on how much venoms
were spewed on Manny when he decided to go to NBA and forgo his senior year at Michigan. Some said that he'll never make it to the NBA. Now, he's the starting G for a terrible Cavs but has gotten better and better as a player. Manny plays 3 different positions for the Cavs and has improved on his ball handling. He still has the athleticism to blow by defenders to get to the hoops.

I don't remember any venom being spewed his way. Maybe a lot of disappointment, skepticism that he'd get drafted, and thoughts that he would have been better served by coming back for his senior year, but no venom.

but I'm using it as a hyperbole to make my points. I do remember people saying that he'll never make the NBA and it only got louder when he went undrafted(which I would rather be undrafted than get drafted in 2nd round).

I don't think anyone ever questioned that Manny was going to be an NBA caliber player, most just questioned why he wouldn't stick around one more year to increase his draft stock.

But, beyond the numbers, Manny has gotten more confident with each game. He doesn't hesitate to attack the basket or launch the three when given the opportunity. He does need to get stronger, but that is easily remedied. In a season this dark, Manny has been one of the few bright spots.
