landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
Lawrence Marshall's top 5
Where did you find this??
He also announced this on recruiting roundup this morning.
Interesting that he has USC/ND in his top 5 because I'm not sure they have even offered. OU is interesting because that is obviously where our old DL coach now works.
They noted his lack of USC offer, so yeah he doesn't have one at this time.
He seems to be MSU's to lose at this point, although over in RCMB they seem to think that if USC offers he'll be theirs
Coach Brown mentions the absence of Ohio State (thanks to spartanfan123 below for the correction there). I like this. I am sure Meyer was never really interested anyway despite the brief commitment - it only makes sense somehow.

It's probably because real recognize real.
Real recognize real? Marshall committed to Ohio State and then decommitted a couple days later. Neither party is "real."
Well.. no not really. Coach Brown tweeted that, Marshall just retweeted it. Here's Marshall's original tweet.
You need to get out more.
Well, more like stay in more really. Those of us who know he's wrong are the ones who probably need to get out more.
Aaron burbridge says hello
if memory serves, Burbridge wanted to come to Michigan, but we weren't sure his grades would qualify and didn't offer. UM raided his high school (Harrison) that year, which had typically been an MSU pipeline, taking Funchess and Ojemudia.
Okay...Tom gholson and Lawrence Thomas
Exactly. Michigan obviously out-recruits MSU for guys both teams want, but MSU takes one or more every year. We wanted Reschke, at least one of the Bulloughs, DeAnthony Arnett (though I'm not sure how much that really counts). In fact, a good chunk of their 2010 class had Michigan offers.
I think he was interested in checking out Michigan but there were some grade concerns so we didn't really reciprocate for a while. When we finally did, he was pretty set on State
You probably want to save the energy you are now expending on insults to use in learning how to use sarcasm successfully.
Your "sarcasm" was a fail, Magnus's response was mild, and this post by you is way emo.
Actually, the correct way would be "Magnus's" since "Magnus" is not plural. You only omit the s when making a plural word possesive.
"The fans' opinions often differ from Magnus's."
Boy, I can honestly say I've never been called "pompass" prior to now.
I think we're all going to learn a lot from you.
The way I pronounce that word in my head, it sounds like a compliment.
I like reading your posts Magnus. They're informative and seem more realistic than negative to me.
His posts are pompasstic!
State shirt fitting these days? Buy some tampons man.
Just another example of Dantonio recruiting at a high level and stealing recruits for Michigan, Ohio, ND and USC.
All that inter-galactic recruiting is paying big dividends for Dantonio.
That joke is getting old
I still find it funny
Just adding my 2 cents.
Are worthless. Very funny and very appropriate. If that dumbshit in E.L thinks he can compete with Michigan then all jokes on him.
First ND or USC would have to offer the kid, btw what is dantonio's record vs Michigan? it makes the situation worse if the man keeps winning with less talent
Why are you on a MICHIGAN WOLVERINES board again?
So I am less of a Michigan fan for speaking the truth?
Were a fan at all. I (being faithful blue) never go around telling fellow wolverines how well State is doing and how well they are recruiting. I would be told off, then kicked square in the nuts. That's just how I roll I guess.
I said they were recruiting well?? hmm news to me, but thanks for letting me know what I said. Are you threatening me? or saying you like to kick yourself in the nuts? I'm lost, either way lol
Tell this^ gentleman MSU's blog so he can entertain them please. Thank you.
I'm sorry, for now on I'll pretend with you
I'm not trying to bust your balls all night, but come on man. Get with it. This is a WOLVERINES blog. My downfall I guess is that I love this team so much I rather not hear all the negatives against them. I should respect your team for who they are and leave it at that. At least they get acknowledged for being in the shadows. Central, Western and Eastern don't. Feel privileged. Go Blue!!
That kind of is a downfall though. You can be a fan and still be able to speak objectively. This is not one of those dur hur Michigan rulez everything blogs. We're able to mention how Dantonio has won against us without our fandom being questioned. If you love the team so much, you should be able to hear the negatives and not get all upset about it because you know there are so many positives to outweigh them.
You gotta rep the 616 better than that.
What year did you graduate from UM?
Is this post the reason why my pizza delivery man was late?
Coming from the guy who tried to make a funny without having his facts straight, good job!
Has actually been putting together a very solid recruiting class. Hate to admit it, but they are doing way better than I expected.
That said, our class is way, way, way better and we are in on some players who wouldn't even consider MSU.
How you started that off then you rebounded nicely. Go Blue!
I think we'd all be pretty dissappointed if we had their class. Their best guy is Deon Drake who's a 4* outside the rivals 250. Their class is...approximately average for Dantonio
Their class is a pretty typical MSU class. All (or nearly all) guys the top schools don't want, but all pretty close. They aren't bringing in 2 stars, but mid to high 3 star guys with 2-4 low 4 star guys sprinkled in. That's what they almost always have and what they have started right now. In fact, according to the 247 composite, none of their commits have four stars, but five out of six are pretty close to it.
Is some good sarcasm. I don't care how old it is.
how many recruits appear on the radio and announce top 5?
is it ironic or does it many he favors michigan over state?
is he a high priority at his point or back burner for michigan?
I would think anytime you can grab a consensus four star recruit from within your own state, that the coaching staff would make it a priority to do so. Then again, we certainly aren't hurting for dline talent that is interested in playing here. Essentially, I think he would be a solid get, but if he ends up at MSU or elsewhere, it is far from the end of the world.
I see him at vt. I think it would be a good idea to try hard for Marshall.
I wasn't sure what to think after watching his highlight video. On numerous plays it didn't look like he was blocked. On some of those, maybe he was just too fast....or maybe they just missed him. Pretty fast for a DE, not the biggest guy, but assuming he can bulk up. A few times he was blocked fairly well, which I just didn't expect to see on a highlight video.
Yeah, I haven't been impressed by what I've seen of Marshall. It's a little tough to get a good read on him because the offensive linemen across from him just aren't that great. I think you have to base almost your entire evaluation on what kind of athlete he is (running, changing direction, etc.), because you can't gather much about his technique or even his strength.
Good athlete, but like you said, that's all you can take. His technique isn't much to write home about, but he has a good, quick first step, and keeps linemen off of him on his speed rush. Outside of that, he doesn't really use his hands much and has a lot to work on against the run. But the potential is there, particularly to be a pass rush guy off the edge.
Would like to have him, but don't feel we "need" him.
UM has Ojemudia (Sophomore) and Charlton (Frosh) already. Two good, young WDE's which makes getting another good WDE in this class less of a priority. It's always nice to get a good player at every position in each class but I think UM could survive if they had to "settle" at that position in this class.
