Lavert Hill: Lockheed Martin DB of the Year

Submitted by Indonacious on

This is the 3rd year of the award and previous winners include Damon Webb from OSU (#5 CB, #35 ranking overall) and Tavarus McFadden from FSU (#3 CB, #15 ranking overall)...so obviously great company for him to be in.

Lavert has a brother on UM, has attended dozens of games, has personally been pursued by Harbaugh for months yet still has questions. My considered hope is that David Long and Khaleke Hudson Go Blue in lieu of him. Both are more physical and better size than Hill. Good luck to him wherever he lands.

I don't really view Hudson and Hill as similar prospects. Hill seems to be a boundary corner and I think Hudson fits the current Peppers role. Also, I've heard Hill's strength being noted as a press corner and his physicality, with any concerns around him centered on zone coverage.

Not sure where the knock on his physicality is coming from.  I wonder if a lot people are souring on the local kids because they're from here and not Cali, Texas or Florida.  Or if they've truly evaluated the film and are unbiased against the Midwest kids.  I want Hill and Long.  I don't think that's too much to ask.

is making the biggest decision of his life up to this point, and just wants to make sure it's the right one.  Aside from that, I think the majority of people on this board, me included, would be extremely happy to see him Go Blue.

The kid has tons of natural talent, athleticism, and cover skills. We need him..in-state from a State Powerhouse program. It sets he right message that Harbaugh can get the states best players.

Seriously? You can't see a distinction between supporting the people who serve in the military and the massive defense contractors who profit over war? Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex 60 some years ago. Are you going to bash Ike too?

1) Welcome to capitalism.

2) I do lots of work for defense contractors. You apparently have never met the leaders of these companies. They ALL tend to be former military. Every day at these companies they remind themselves they are working for the "warfighter" and what they do gives us the competitive edge in the defense of our way of life. that is not hyperbole; its the ethos at Lockheed and Raytheon and all of the thousands of smaller companies too.

If your picture of these companies is greedy people laughing at their spoils because they love profiting on war, then you have no sense of the real world. Im sure its easy for you to think you are better than them because you are holy and moral and their are profiteers of war, but maybe you should get to know some of these "industrial complex" leaders before you climb back in your pedastal again.
