Latwan still alive?
Scout is reporting that Latwan Anderson is still in the running, as he is on the Michigan homepage. Rivals even lists us first in his interest. I know this is all speculation, but wow would that be great to have this dude in the secondary and returning kicks/punts. Any info from Tom or others?

He is visiting OSU this weekend and WVU still holds the lead. I really think he just likes attention.

On coming to Michigan he had a few words to say "Glenville, Ted Ginn Sr.".

applies with as much force anymore. Between Marcus Hall visiting Michigan and the Anderson recruitment (although I agree we're not gonna get him), I think it's likely Ginn Sr. just really hated Lloyd Carr.

And until we actually get a kid from Glenville any and all kids will be OSU locks from Glenville. Until the trend is broken.

Let someone else have him. It took OSU ages to offer him despite his talent and where he goes to school. There is too much out there about his bad attitude and penchant for trouble that I think RichRod could do without any negative pub he may bring into the program.
Kid has talent oozing out his pores but it just seems his risk:reward ratio isn't that great.

took the same path Latwan is taking. Played at St. Ed's, transferred (in fact, I think Troy may have been kicked out), went to Glenville. All those Glenville guys end up at tOSU--which is why it was somewhat satisfying to see them lose the state title on a last minute 2-point conversion.

That being said, I would take Latwan in a heart beat if RR feels that he can clean up his act.
I still wouldn't believe it until he signs the LOI.

that RR seems to have done a phenomenal job in the past with troubled kids and keeping them on the straight and narrow, at least while they're in college. Look at Pacman and Chris Henry.
Never heard much of a peep about the two of them while they were in college, but they get to the NFL and both of them are suspended and working on being banned until they both finally start to realize there are rules everywhere.
If he takes a kid who has such a penchant, hopefully they get straightened out quick.
And for that matter, there is precedent at UM as well. Look to Feagin. Not a whole lot of tolerance there. Hopefully that sets the tone for responsible behavior in the future.

Just curious, but why would you rather have Sean Parker?
If we're going purely based on talent, I think Anderson is significantly better than Parker. If we're looking at the whole package...yeah...maybe Parker would be a better option.

For exactly that reason.
If we are looking at it based on talent alone, I would probably go with the guy that looks like Tracy Morgan.
We need a shark at safety, and Latwan Anderson lives every week like it is Shark Week.

Why do people keep saying this kid has an attitude problem. I have heard it from a couple of people on this blog, so i looked it up and i got nothing. Anyone want to explain to me how you know he has a bad attitude?

Got into a little tussle with a teacher at St. Edwards.. does extremely poorly in school. And the kid thinks he's the greatest thing in the world. Being confident is good, but like talent, he's oozing with confidence. Too much.

I still think we should take him if he wants to be a wolverine. It's easier to fix an attitude problem than it is to fix lack of talent.

A single incident with a teacher when a kid is 15 or 16 years old should not necessarily forever label him as a kid with an attitude problem. Kids should be allowed to grow up.
Look at Kevin Garnett. He had a single incident in his background (a big fight when he was a Junior in High School), and he went on to be a role model to some.... and so far he has been incident free. The guy is widely considered one of the good guys of the NBA.
A single incident does not create a pattern. And we sure could use some confidence and swagger in our defensive backfield. The great ones almost universally have that. Including our very own Charle Woodson who ooozed confidence and swagger.
We have to allow these kids the opportunity to grow up and demonstrate that they have gotten their act together.
