Rumor mill says, 8 years $49Mill for Harbaugh. Would bring DJ Durkin as DC, make Andy Moeller & Ty Wheatly as Co-OC.

Neither guy would go back to CFB with anything less than an OC position (obviously teaching their talents at their respective positions as well). The "Co-OC" title is just that: a resume' title. Jim would be the main OC at the CFB level, IMO. Yet, he'd have a legit OC in both but both would also be more position coaches than gameplan guys. Think of it at about an 80:20 ratio in position:offensive duties. Should we get Jim the biggest difference is going to be the way we become an NFL conduit in terms of coaching and eventually players. NFL guys that want a break, have to rebuild their resume', were just on a staff that was let go, etc will come to Michigan to be under Jim to do so. The same goes the other way. Wheatley would likely move on in a few years but that would be a sign that things are going well! You want teams trying to poach your coaches and in Ty's case, let him as he may be the guy that comes back to be the next HC!?! Up & coming coaches with their eyes set on one day being in the NFL or major CFB will seek out Michigan like they did for so many years under Bo and through the 90s. It's why we have such a large coaching tree despite recent failures. UM was a sought out destination for coaches and we'd return to that at the players/programs benefit. Landing Jim would be a culture change like no other hire (maybe outside if Miles) in that we'd go back to running like a professional outfit again day one. I think it will take a couple years to start really winning but the staff would and we'll remain top notch, almost pro level, from day one on. THAT is the difference in getting him or another. Many other guys can win here but it wouldn't be like before. Hiring Harbaugh would be the most "MICHIGAN THING" Michigan has done since 97. Some posters here weren't even born then. They have zero idea of what Michigan is or was our whatever you wanna call it. Record aside, up until the late 90s we were a coaching destination and not this rehashing of loyalty spoiled sub par coaches. It seems like every NFL team & about 50 solid CFB teams have coaches in the Michigan tree. Given that we haven't had anyone to carry the tradition in a decade, that's saying a lot. /r

I would would have agreed with that last year but a lot of good teams have them now.

A short list of teams with co-offensive coordinators:

Michigan State, Arizona, Florida State, Ohio State, Clemson, TCU, Auburn, Miss State, and  Ole Miss. Right now 7 of the top 10 teams have co-coordinators and some even have co-coordinators on both sides of the ball which I found interesting.

Moeller hasn't been mentioned specificly as co-OC, just one that would likely be on the staff should JH come. Wheatly is definitely in the running for that but I think they might mean co-OC in that Harbaugh will essentially act as OC as well. Definitely getting Durkin chatter for DC on multiple fronts. I've also heard Jerald Ingram's name as one to watch out for for the RB coaching job.

Come on. A RB coach and a OL coach as co-OC. Harbaugh isn't that stupid. I could see them each being their respective position coaches though in the new regime.

Don;t know where the info on Moeller and Wheatley is coming from but Wheatley is an NFL RB coach and supposedly won't move unless he gets promoted.  So that leaves OC as his only option.  Apparently has HC aspirations.

Moeller has been an NFL OL coach mostly with the Ravens (OL coach and assistant OL coach), then moved this past year to the Browns.  The "edge of internet' stuff a few nights ago supposedly came from his text message.

Again not sure where these 2 names have been "leaked" but that's a bit of their background.  Obviously highly speculative sh** all around. :)

Henson has been running his mouth a whole lot on this issue with JH and i hope its true because if its not and JH doesnt come his credibility is going to take a huge hit. But Moeler and Wheatley as OC and CO-OC I dont see that

I looked pretty closely at Fangio in one of the diaries.  Awesome coach.  But a NFL guy through and through.  Other than 1 year at Stanford (wherre he totally transformed the defense into awesomeness) he has been in the NFL his whole career.  Would love to have him but just seems like a guy who was out of a job and went from Baltimore to Stanford (from 1 brother to the next) for the short term.

Mattison is hit or miss.  This was the 5th-6th best defense in the Big 10 this year despite a lot of experience and talent.  Think there are better out there.

People don't seem to know that Jim's entire MO at Stanford was taking NFL castoffs who couldn't find jobs in the league. People are balking at the idea that he'd name two NFL position coaches co-OCs and yet that is exactly what he did at Stanford.

The side effect of that is that guys like Fangio and Roman, who couldn't find pro gigs, are now likely to breeze into them even if they're demotions (in Roman's case).
