Latest CB trends

Submitted by Real and Spectacular on

For the easily confused that would be crystal balls, not cornerbacks.

The good: Filiaga trending hard to UM. Up to 94% with about a dozen this week. This one appears to be wrapped up. Najee is up to 70% UM, although none of the heavy hitters are weighing in because..no one really knows.

The bad: Run of Florida CBs for Slaton. He did not mention us in his favorites. He gone. Willie Gay trending LSU based on his comments of almost committing. Still some chatter that he is a UM silent and is having fun. Not holding my breath.

The interesting: OSU trending for the #1 JUCO CB. (That would be corner back, not crystal ball). That's a lot of top rated corners they are bringing in.

With Harris, its not like anyone can BALLZ him to Alabama right? Cause he's already committed?

I wouldn't say that's entirely accurate. It's just like any Crystal Ball pick. If you're wrong, you don't get the points and it hurts your accuracy percentage. There's not "nothing" to lose unless you think there's never anything to lose with a CB pick.

The people with a lot to lose are the people who picked Alabama in the first place before he committed. So there are basically two categories of pickers:

1. People with a lot to lose
2. People with something less to lose

Ohio State and their cornerback class reminds me of when Alabama had that RB class in 2013 that had Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, Altee Tenpenny, and Tyren Jones.

In general, their entire 2013 recruiting class was insane -- just star, after star.  Was like the bizarro version of Michigan's 2013 class (which was No. 4 according to the 247 composite).

Him and Marvin Wilson want to play together. He still would be a Buckeye to my guess but a late JuCo corner offer by them is suggestive of worrying about Okudah to the Noles. The Wade kid they're getting is very good. Bolden and Prior are freaks too. Glad we are loading up the WR talent and I really hope we get Nico. That kid will be a star in Ann Arbor.

OSU takes all that skill, but if they end up with Wade, Holmes, Sheffield, Okudah along with the commits they have in Pryor, Williamson, and Riep...that secondary would be lethal (from a recruiting point of view).

I would think a few tranfers in the secondary would occur after spring practice.

Not too concerned about Slaton, he's been gone for a long time.   I think we can probably almost kiss Herbert good-bye too.   Becton seems to be Herbert's replacement.

Why use abbreviations if you have to explain them using many more words than if you had simply typed the complete words?

Of course, you could say "c-ball" or "c-back" but I suppose that is not as cool as using the same abbeviation with two different meanings in one post ...

It's like grade school work where a word is left out and you put the correct word in. Knowing whether it's crystal ball or corner back is obvious and should not need explaining.

I haven't studied it but if OSU gets the number one juco CB plus they get two of the top 5 and 3 of the top ten in this class, how is that possible? What CB wants to compete with 3 other top commits in the class plus the class before and after?
