Late Night osu Hate Thread/Online Bonfire

Submitted by jhackney on

Well, here we are. The night before the biggest game of the season. The outlook does not bode well for us. The hell with outlooks and the hell with osu. Let's build the most hate for them in one post that the negative energy travels to Columbus to see Justin Boren curl up into the fetus position and Terrell Pryor learns math.

Friday night. This will be our little bonfire pep rally.

To start:

The way osu students receive their degrees:

Now let it rip boys and girls....

Whatever happens, I'll always rather be a losing Wolverine* than a winning buckeye. I'll always be proud to be a MICHIGAN WOLVERINE.

*Edit: A winning Wolverine is nice too.

Every little thing Ohio State does just pisses me off, and adds fuel to the fire of hate I have for them. Nothing could ever make me like them, and just about anything could make me hate them more.

It's almost The Game day folks.  Remember, send the wife/husband/kids to the in-laws and have them take any ammunition/knives with them, put a protective (clear) shield in front of the TV, set the DVR, think of a clever pseudonym for the live blog, go to the store now to pick up a (large) quantity of liquor, turn off the phone, and close the blinds.

Remember, rage will sustain you, but joy is better for the blood pressure.

A cat's rage is beautiful, burning with pure cat flame, all its hair standing up and crackling blue sparks, eyes blazing and sputtering.

William S. Burroughs

Also, I'm taking suggestions for polls on the liveblog.  Only clean stuff, and no overt bashing of current Michigan players.

I didn't think this deserved it's own thread, but I want to see what the MGoBoard thinks about this. The Red Wings played Columbus tonight, and I'm pretty sure the teams played the night before The Game last year as well. Is this a coincidence, or do you think the NHL is consciously trying to piggyback on the popularity of the Game, and the Michigan/Wings fans who are in Columbus, etc.?

Also, I am amused by the color switch. All the hockey fans in Ohio have to root for a team with "Blue" in their name.

The fact that I don't just hate the football team, or the sports teams, but really well and truly the university, nay, the entire state. Furthermore that I think this hatred is largely rational.

Sometimes, in periods of intense introspection, I wonder to myself if my hatred of them is perhaps too arrogant or otherwise wrong. These internal battles always end quickly. No, hating that school and even that state is right and good, just like drinking good beer because it tastes good, winning my continued personal fight against illiteracy, and not fucking my sister.

I hope we win tomorrow. I hope the tears of fans of that school will salt their own earth, because that's hilarious when it happens to your enemies. Nothing but the worst you inbred cro-magnon lumps of fail. Nothing but the worst.

I would say I hate OSU, but I'd be lieing. I want them to go 12-1 every year with some exceptions.

We both have great tradition, heritage, and are premeir NCAA football schools.

Hell man I want ND to go 12-1 every year too. It's sad to see their program and ours in our bad years.

I also want MSU to lose every game. I fucking hate Sparties, and the "GO GREEN GO WHITE" chant that had taken over the Big House this year (my first game) is gonna haunt me forever.

I have room in my heart to hate all three equally, except that I hate Ohio State most. If you will open your maize n blue heart wider you can too. Friends of mine ask if I would root for OSU against an SEC school. Answer, I cannot ever root for the Buckeyes ever, for anything. Do Jedi Knights root for Emperor Palpatine? Do hobbits root for orcs? No, my friend. It is just wrong to think any good thoughts about Buckeyes ever.

The only Buckeyes on the team right now that I dislike are Justin Boren and Terrele Pryor. The rest seem like talented kids. I have never seen any disrespect that isn't expected from a football team. Sweatervest is a great coach with a great program too. And about rooting against the SEC, I would do that because it improves the value of the Big Ten.

From Maize n Brew: http://www.maizenbrew.com/2010/11/26/1837810/on-the-rivalry-ohio-state#storyjump

On a related note, it hasn't helped perceptions when you have a guy like Brian Cook, who's immensely talented, but also has a tendency to partake in fanbase assassination when things don't go his way. In the aftermath of '06, we heard stories of Buckeye fans crapping in coolers and assaulting a man in a wheelchair, when the real story should have been about the wonderful game that was played on the field.
