Late Night Game Thread.

In an effort to forget this mess I am going to down several Irish Car Bombs and watch Rich Rodriguez attempt to go 4-0.

I can't wait until Michigan runs roughshod over the B1G, doesn't lose another game in the regular season, blasts Wisconsin or PSU in the championship game, and then goes to the Rose Bowl where Oregon throws them into the sun.

Matt Scott is a good fit at QB. He brought Casteel with him this time around and Stoops brought in some decent talent until the wheels fell off. It's not dealing with late Carr era holdovers and he probably got guys eager for a fresh start rather than sullen about a coaching change, put it all together and you have a decent first year.

I don't know about the overall team, but Matt Scott is a much better QB than Steven Threet or Nick Sheridan.  We know from experience that Rodriguez's system needs a playmaking QB.  Put a game-manager type in there and it'll go nowhere.

I love Rich Rodriguez.  I'm happy to see him do well out West.  Go Wildcats.

Michigan will bounce back.  BIG schedule is just now underway.  Just look at what Hoke/Mattison/Montgomery did with Q. Washington.  I understand the frustration with the TO's but guys:  Washington was an o-lineman.  He just converted not too long ago.  We held a decent offense to 13 pts after comitting 6 turnovers with 18 year old's at 2 LB positions and safety.

No established head coach like Rich Rodriguez, in the middle of his career, is ever going to do what Fickell did.  That's not a realistic expectation.

Anyhow, Borges's offense produced almost exactly the same PPG in 2011 as Rodriguez's did in 2010, so I don't see the issue.  I think they're both good offensive minds.

Here is what I don't get.  The guy that runs this site watches more game tape than any amateur fan in the country.  This same guy says the best offense he can concieve of is RR's.  So...why are we hating on RR?  Its' not his philosophy.  Is it because how he was treated?  Because he couldn't grab his D-coordinator?  I just don't get it.

RR is doing his thing,

Hoke is doing his thing.

Why hate on either guy?

He did say Oregon:  Lets get that on the record.  I do think Chip Kelly is different only because he was able to recruit better.  So everything you put in parenthesis is true, but I think RR would evolve to that if he could.  But at WVU and Michigan he never had the opportunity.
