Late afternoon/evening games Open Thread

Submitted by Avant's Hands on

Couple of afternoon games are still finishing up and then two of our rivals play what should be interesting games this evening. In Knoxville, Tennessee has just tied Georgia 24-24 in the 4th. And Okie St. just jumped back in front of Kansas St by 1 late in the game.

neat as a team and looking totally, unselfconsciously stupid. I'd say that Notre Dame crosses that line and heads for Theater of the Absurd tonight.

The number of Ohio fans in that stadium is comical given this was Northwesterns huge, prime time game

Why? NU has 8000 undergraduates (not all of whom buy tickets), a small alumni base, and a tradition for Chicago's away-team alums to pencil it in as a game to go to. OSU fans probably bought those tickets as soon as they went on sale, just like our fans did. even with the NU dynamic pricing markup.

And, really, I don't think anyone saw a #4/#16 matchup coming for this one. At the end of the day, this is par for the course at Ryan Field when a team like OSU or Michigan comes to town.

NW  needs to put together a drive and put up 6 points.  These field goal ending drives they put together are going to bite them in the ass unless they can score some tuds.  I know this isn't exactly earth shattering opinion but Ohio is gearing up to come back in a major way.

Why has everyone given up on NW on this thread? Yes they havent gotten 7 on each drive but they are driving almost at will.  This game is going down to the last drive one way or the other.  Entertaining -can't ask for more.

Because it's what the buckeyes do. I know M had two close wins this season, but Ohio seems to have these every fucking year and more than every team. It's just so annoying to hear the media talk about how good they are and this and that when they have won so many games they should have lost. A lot of their wins are a result of completely idiotic play calling from their opponents.

Joey Bosa is looking pretty good in this NW/OSU game.  I wonder why it seems to take our young guys so long to develop.  Why can't Charlton be making an impact like that or Pipkins for that matter as a sophomore?
