Late afternoon/evening games Open Thread

Submitted by Avant's Hands on

Couple of afternoon games are still finishing up and then two of our rivals play what should be interesting games this evening. In Knoxville, Tennessee has just tied Georgia 24-24 in the 4th. And Okie St. just jumped back in front of Kansas St by 1 late in the game.

Some interesting games going on that aren't being talked about.

LSU only up 5 on MSU with the Bulldogs driving right now.

Ole Miss still down by 11 to Auburn. Not a good day to be a ranked SEC team.

TCU has closed to within 3 of Oklahoma in Norman.

Oregon averages 599 yards and 60 points per game.

Baylor just put up 597617 yards and 56 points in a half.

Well, there's still a minute left. Who knows, they might get the ball again.

I think Baylor is the best team in the Big 12.  Amazing how good they've gotten in the last few years after being a joke for decades.  It'd be like watching Indiana drop 60+ each week, which... hey, maybe in another year or two.

Northwestern has a good offense, maybe great, but I've been skeptical of ohios defense. So it could be a bit of both. Good offense, not the best defense.

That sack says no. Completely different style of offense. It's a quick pass, spread rushing attack. Younger inexperienced lineman can "look" better in that style of offense. I was waiting for someone to say something after they mentioned that.

"Younger inexperienced lineman can "look" better in that style of offense."

We had that sort of offense the first 2 years at UM and the OL did not look good at all against top end defenses.  2011 was better than 2012 of course with Molk but  I'd argue if it was just a system the coaches should morph to a system that can work esp knowing our OL wont mature until 2015.  2014 is going to be as young or younger than 2013 and they knew that in 2011.

NBC announcers trying to argue that a catch is complete even though the receiver had half a foot out of bounds and juggled the ball at least four times upon hitting the ground out of bounds. Never change, guys.

Northwestern should be extremely happy that they're up 10 in the 3rd quarter, but they're settling for way too many field goals. I've got a feeling that's going to come back and bite them in the ass sooner or later.
