Late afternoon/evening games Open Thread
Couple of afternoon games are still finishing up and then two of our rivals play what should be interesting games this evening. In Knoxville, Tennessee has just tied Georgia 24-24 in the 4th. And Okie St. just jumped back in front of Kansas St by 1 late in the game.

Not really - they are a lot more like UM as a program. A lot of good history, awesome fans, some great players in history, huge stadium, which has fallen on hard time in the past 5-6 years.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:16 PM ^
If you are Tennessee don't you just interfere on any pass that is close?
October 5th, 2013 at 7:17 PM ^
I have always thought that. You make it a 1 play game.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:16 PM ^
Tennessed just Tennessee'd right there...and then again on the next play. If you were ever in a situation where playing disciplined defense might pay off, it would be here. If Georgia ties, that's all on the Vols.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:16 PM ^
Wow. SEC refs working hard to save their #6 team
October 5th, 2013 at 7:17 PM ^
There is no reason not to commit pass interference on this next play.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:19 PM ^
Gutty drive by Murray.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:23 PM ^
I like college football. Especially today with beating Minny, but close games in the fall are where it's at.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
Wow. That's incredible.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
Awful break for Tennessee.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
oh wow - disaster. touchback
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
Rocky top nooooo
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
1 yard between victory and defeat.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
VOLZ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
OMG - that's got to be about the worst way to lose a game if that TD gets overturned (assuming UGA scores).
October 5th, 2013 at 7:27 PM ^
Will be Georgia ball, no td. Insane
October 5th, 2013 at 7:28 PM ^
NOW Tennessee is MSU.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:28 PM ^
No freaking points. Oh my. The SEC is so great.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:30 PM ^
Cmon. I know we are all sick of the SEC love, but that has nothing to do with what just happened.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:32 PM ^
But if they had scored it would've had everything to do with it. I know you aren't, but SEC slappies can't have it both ways.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:29 PM ^
Alot better under Jones
October 5th, 2013 at 7:29 PM ^
Iowa State is probably pissed right now.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:30 PM ^
Oh this is so sad... Georgia escaped an embarrassing loss
October 5th, 2013 at 7:30 PM ^
Man that suuuuux for Tennessee
October 5th, 2013 at 7:30 PM ^
Killer mistake. It happens, but oh man that was terrible.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:31 PM ^
Everyone remembers when Georgia was in this position against the actual Sparty right? They went no where with a chance to win then biffed the field goal.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:31 PM ^
Miss a fg. Game shouldn't end like this
October 5th, 2013 at 7:32 PM ^
This is not a gimme FG.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:32 PM ^
If he misses this FG Georgia fans are going be apoplectic.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:32 PM ^
Aaron Murray will be a top pick.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:33 PM ^
Kill it with fire.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:33 PM ^
Sad Tennessee fans.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:33 PM ^
Tennessee should be thrilled with how well they played... But what a gutting way to lose.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:34 PM ^
Dang. I wanted another OT
October 5th, 2013 at 7:34 PM ^
Whoa. Really weird seeing the NBC Sports hockey studio guy doing football work. Do they always have him do football?
October 5th, 2013 at 7:35 PM ^
Georgia rips TN's heart out at Neyland better than any other team. 2001 last-minute TD by David Green, 2003 last-moment-of-1st half 100 yard fumble return TD, this. Wow.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:37 PM ^
Hate Tennessee. But seeing a top ten SEC squad lose to an unranked team would have been delicious.
Oh well. Time to root against Notre Dame.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:38 PM ^
Admirable effort by Notre Dame to eschew their classic look to be more like Oregon.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:38 PM ^
Is Shamrock Series slang for Notre-Dame-Is-Going-To-Look-Ridiculous?
October 5th, 2013 at 7:39 PM ^
Jokes aside, the Volunteers should be proud of that performance - statistically, they were neck-and-neck with Georgia in a lot of respects. Only three fewer first downs, only thirty yards difference in total offense, fairly similar passing performances. In most respects, they simply hung in there.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
True that. And I do feel horrible for that kid who dropped the ball. I hope the Tenn fans lay off of him.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:39 PM ^
WTF Helmets in use at Arlington tonight
October 5th, 2013 at 7:40 PM ^
These UNIFORMZ
October 5th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
Like the Sparky helmet, love the Pitchfork helmet, let's put on a terrible flame helmet with terrible black uni's.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:54 PM ^
Even if you didn't grow up hating Notre Dame, wouldn't the NBC coverage do it? These announcers are already ripping on Arizona State on the first drive. That defense that is the worst tackling team you have seen just held the Irish to 0 points and ND had to pick up a 4th down conversion to get in FG range. No team should have their own personal announcers.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
Damn I love college football. Been sitting on my ass since 10:00 this morning and I have loved every minute of it. It's always, of course, so much more fun to watch the plethora of night games after M wins. Looking forward to the night cap, Stanford versus Washington.

Is it bad for me to want Ohio to be undefeated when they come to Ann Arbor ??
October 5th, 2013 at 8:01 PM ^
Technically we want to see OSU beat NW since we want to get the Big10Championship game but I cant root for them. Go Wildcats
October 5th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
Neither can I. I'm all for the Wildcats winning this game.
Side note: I cannot wait to see the blimp view of the stadium. Let's see how many Buckeye fans are there. I can't stand how they invade stadiums. The crowd at the Cal game was just ridiculous.
October 5th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
And so I plan on rooting for them.
Until the game starts, and then if history is a guide, every good NW play will make me smile.
