Late Afternoon Open Thread

Early games are still in action, but wanted to get this out before I lose focus and forget. Not a lot of 3:30pm games compared to usual. Keep an eye on Wisconsin vs a real opponent (OSU) and Indiana. Virginia has made a living playing horrible in September than come alive in October. I'll have the TV on Wisconsin@OSU and Bama'@OleMiss, and ESPN360 on Indiana@UVa. Game that I'll probably miss but want to see is Oregon@UCLA. The mid-afternoon/early-evening shift via AwfulAnnouncing, chronologically then by my interest: 2pm
  • New Mexico @ Wyoming (MTN)
3:30pm
  • Alabama @ Mississippi (CBS)
  • Wisconsin @ Ohio State (ABC/ESPN)
  • Oregon @ UCLA (ABC)
  • Indiana @ Virginia (ESPN360)
  • Connecticut @ Pittsburgh (ABC/ESPN)
  • Navy @ Rice (CBS College Sports)
  • Baylor @ Oklahoma (ABC)
  • Bowling Green @ Kent State (FS Ohio)
  • Georgia Southern @ North Carolina (ESPN360)
  • Marshall @ Tulane (CSS, CST)
  • Gardner-Webb @ Buffalo (Time Warner-NY)
4pm
  • Duke @ North Carolina State (ESPNU)
6pm
  • Utah @ Colorado State (MTN)
6:30pm
  • Maryland @ Wake Forest (ESPN360)

Wiscy's turnovers will end up costing them this game if they don't get it together. I'd much rather start Monday morning in C-bus with an Ohio State loss.

Baylor goes for it on 4th and 8 at the offensive 43, only picks up 6 on a short slant that was pretty well covered. Turnover on downs. OU up 17-7 little over half way through the 3Q.

Yeah it pisses me off, you need to go for the TD there. Now they just wasted all that time and couldn't even get any points on the board. I'm giving up on this game, too many mistakes on Wiscy's part.

requiring lots of heroics from Tate and a flukey interception to seal the win. At home. OK, maybe the Hoosiers are a decent team this year. Then they promptly go out and get waxed by the Bucks, but hey, it's OSU. But now Indiana is getting bitch-slapped 44-0 by Virginia, one of the worst teams in the country? Whose coach is on the hottest of hot seats? Who lost to freaking William & Mary?

Will someone please tell Bielema and the Badgers that once the clock runs out you don't get to run any more plays? And that they're down 3 scores?

Jeez, just a pathetic performance by Wisconsin today. People pick on Michigan saying they're worse than their record, but I think UW's the biggest fraud in the B10 (with PSU already being exposed by Iowa)

I still stand by Penn State being the biggest frauds in the Big Ten. Yeah, they kicked the shit out of E. Illinois today, but I don't see them looking too powerful against a decent team this year. Kind of unfortunate, I'm hoping for an OSU loss when the Bucks have to travel to Happy Valley.

NCState gunner goes running away from the ball in the coffin corner, ball bounces and goes right toward him. Goes off his back and Duke recovers. Duke will have a 1st and 10 at the ~13 yard line. Looking to make it a two possession game. We'll see if they can block this time around. The Duke OL was a sieve on those last 3 plays.
