Late Afternoon Games Open Thread

Submitted by jcgold on

With So. Miss polishing off a big win vs. Houston, we can look forward to this afternoon's late games:

Iowa St. at #11 KSU - FSN (currently 17-13 K-State at half.  They could get a BCS spot if TCU is unable to move up)

UNLV at #18 TCU - Vs. (currently 21-3 in 2nd.  See BCS potential)

#22 Texas at #17 Baylor - ABC (No, Baylor will not be in BCS)

#14 Georgia vs. #1 LSU - CBS

Hopefully this last weekend will deliver some more good games.  Discuss and enjoy.

If Georgia wins, I doubt the loser of MSU/Wisky, Houston, Oklahoma (if they lose) will drop below us AND TCU. I don't think TCU will qualify for that automatic for moving up two spots to 16. There is still a chance IMO, that simulator just assumes TCU will move up with a Houston loss and take our spot.

If OSU wins today, I would absolutely vote them into the championship game regardless of how this one ends. It's obvious by now that the SEC has awful offenses. Let's test an SEC team against someone with an actual offense, please.

With the clobbering Baylor just put on Texas, I could see them getting enough votes in the AP/Coaches polls to jump Michigan (as they already have a HUGE computer lead).  Michigan really needs Houston to drop below them.
