Late Afternoon Games Open Thread

Submitted by jcgold on

With So. Miss polishing off a big win vs. Houston, we can look forward to this afternoon's late games:

Iowa St. at #11 KSU - FSN (currently 17-13 K-State at half.  They could get a BCS spot if TCU is unable to move up)

UNLV at #18 TCU - Vs. (currently 21-3 in 2nd.  See BCS potential)

#22 Texas at #17 Baylor - ABC (No, Baylor will not be in BCS)

#14 Georgia vs. #1 LSU - CBS

Hopefully this last weekend will deliver some more good games.  Discuss and enjoy.

The SEC is just awesome and so fun to watch. Obviously watching a Michigan game trumps any other team, but man, the SEC is unreal.

That was a great onside kick but too bad for them they missed the field goal.

There's something about watching college football on CBS I don't like.  I don't know if it's the music, Verne Lundquist, Danielson, or something else, but games on that network don't grab my attention like ABC/ESPN games do.

I prefer my ESPN guys over the CBS crew. It's the same with FOX. THe NFL belongs on FOX, college football should not be on FOX ever. It's lame when the FOX guys who analyze NFL games do college games, as if they know what the hell they're talking about.

Georgia should be up 14-0 right now. LSU is extremely lucky not to be getting killed. It makes you wonder if LSU would still be top 2 if they get shellacked today. I say yes, but it would be kind of fun to find out.

the fact that les doesn't have a QB could help Georgia stay in this game.  Just not sold on Jefferson or Lee....UGA D has been solid the last couple weeks and the LSU O at least to me is very ordinary.

It could have been one of those calls where the player was on the LOS, but too far off it.  I remeber our OL getting called for that because of tackle was set slightly off the line to get into his pass blocking stance.

Iowa St ties it up....and LSU still looks like they know they are in the title game no matter what. Come on Les how about a little fire from your damn strong football team.

....but I almost want Georgia to score on  this drive because I want to see at least one completed pass.

....or they could just run it. Given the last few drives, I don't blame them.

This is supposed to be the #2 rushing defense in the nation? Not as easy when you face a balanced offense is it? I agree that SEC defenses thrive on stacking the box against bad QBs and gun shy offensive game plans. LSU does not look like the consensus #1 team so far. And how Georgia managed to win 10 straight with these receivers is a mystery to me.
