Laquon Treadwell wants to visit Auburn now

Submitted by bassmaster on

He also says he hasn't talked to Michigan coaches in a month, yet he knows about Bailey visiting soon. I would link it up but it's behind a paywall. Draw your own conclusions, but I think if he was going to come to Michigan, he would be committed by now.

Is very important to him. I keep thinking back to when he first visited; he wanted to commit, but his mom hadn't seen campus yet so he held off. Well, he's still holding off, and his mom has already given her approval. At this point, I'd be surprised if he comes to Michigan.

They run an offense just like his HS offense and he finds that very appealing. He knows 2 spots are available and he knows that Bailey is high on Michigan and visiting very soon. It seems that if he wanted to go to Michigan, he would commit before Bailey has a chance to visit.

Ahhhh I'm not so sure about that. I think they'll have a fall off, but I'm not so certain about the "severe" part. People down here still expect big things from them, and they have the coaching personnel to make that happen. Despite losing Weeden and Blackmon, they still have enough weapons to put points on the board even if it's not to 2011 levels. Their defense should be very solid this year as well.

I wouldn't expect another B12 championship, but I also wouldn't expect them to just go away. Their future is still bright, especially if they can bring in talent like Treadwell. Their recruiting has definitely spiked in the last few years.

These days, if he was going to commit, he probably would have already done so. I'm sure Hoke has moved on...if he doesn't want to be here with all these linemen and Shane then that's his decision. Funny thing is our recruiting makes me say statements like this 8 months before actual signing day!

I'm not sure Oklahoma St. is as big a threat as people are making them out to be, but I don't really know what this kid is thinking anymore.

He has every right to want to evaluate his options, but I just feel like if he knew Michigan was where he wanted to be, he would have committed by now.  That is the part that makes me nervous.

Jordan Diamond award winner, come on down.

Rivals' confidence in him coming to Michigan has taken a significant hit, it seems (but not in a bad way if that makes sense).

After Levenberry, and now Treadwell, I'm willing to bet the coaches may be second-guessing the strategy of telling top recruits that we'll save a spot for them, especially given how quickly recruiting has been moving this year.  Sure he's the best WR still on the board... sure he would be a huge boost to our offense... sure he would have an insanely productive career at Michigan, but if he doesn't want to be here... if he's not feeling it, then good luck to him.

Pretty sure the coaches have told him that he has a spot if there is one left, but there leaving the ball in his court.

I like the WRs we have so far, and depending on where the chips fall with the DBs we are in on, Lewis could flip to WR as well.

The writing seemed to be on the wall a couple of weeks ago when he had a chance to commit and waited.  I'd be happy if he came to UM, but if not then so be it.  Will say, would like to close on one of these skill-position players sooner rather than later.

Affer hearing numerous interviews of UM recruits over the past two years, it sounds like the current Michigan staff keeps in heavy contact with guys they are still actively recruiting.  So Laquon not hearing from the coaches for a month sure does sound like they've cooled on him.  Very surprising if that's the case.  Maybe they want a different type of WR for the last spot, a shifty slot type like Bailey or someone with elite speed like Allen.

One more case of "I'll just trust the coaches."

included Michigan in his top 7 recently. It looked like he'd been talking with Dawson and I think that's who Dawson was referring to with the whole "commit watch" a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know why the staff pulled his offer a while back  and now why they've extended it again? It's highly unlikely I know.

The LS schollie is something I'll never understand especially when were still in on a lot of elite talent.

that Alabama and Nebraska also offered LS's recently? That puts us in pretty good company with teams that just might know a thing or two about recruiting.

But more importantly, our coaches think its important to offer an LS, so I'm all in with that.

That's part of why they get paid the big bucks. I trust them completely and know they've already done a hell of a job. I realize other top programs are doing the same thing as well. I just can't make sense of it.

I agree with those that feel we might not be a great fit with Treadwell. He seems to really enjoy the recruitment process and the attention that comes with it and I don't blame him one bit. Most of us would likely act the same way but it just feels he's more the laquon, the laquon, the laquon than the team, the team, the team.

We can be an impatient bunch. Let the kid enjoy the process and if he chooses to go Blue then yay for us and if not then its not the end of the world. We all know that Hoke has a no-visit policy once a recruit commits which probably is the reason Treadwell hasnt commited already. Even if he gives a verbal it doesnt mean anything until NSD, so lets all chill out and let the process play itself out.
