For added context, only 5 WRs in this class received a grade higher then 95. Burbridge is amongst the 2012 kids graded at 95. So is fellow offeree Durron Neal, an Oklahoma commit. Darboh is a 94, Payton is a 92.

Supposedly Justice Hayes decommitted from Notre Dame because he felt he didn't receive enough attention on his official visit.

ND has almost 50 recruits coming this Saturday. Treadwell might not get as much attention as he would at another game.

Justice Hayes committed to ND over Michigan.  During the season he went on his official visit to ND.

He said this after his visit and decommitment.

"Last weekend when I went to the [Notre Dame] game I was just uncomfortable with a couple of situations," Hayes told rivals.com. "Me and my family ultimately decided to open back up my recruiting process."

He basically felt ignored by the ND coaching staff.

If I was a WR being recruited by ND (like Payton and Treadwell) they would not be as high on my list as if I were at another position.

ND has 3 WRs committed in this class (more if either of the "athletes" play receiver) and no QBs.  The year before, the only QB they signed was the #16 dual threat QB, a three star, who is listed at 6'0".  They also had three receivers signed in 2011.

Compare that to UM who didn't sign a WR in 2011, has the #1 Dual Threat QB around for a while and has a 5 star QB committed for 2013.

Why not?

ND spreads the football around and throws...a lot.

That 3* QB you mentioned is Everett Golson. He's not a slouch. He threw for over 11,000 yards in high school with almost 150 touchdown passes. His junior year of high school he posted an astounding 15:1 TD to INT ratio (47 TD to 3 INT), then in limited action his senior year he threw for another 25 TDs to only 2 INTs. Star rating doesn't matter in this case. He's a perfect fit for the offense Kelly runs.

I don't think he's arguing that Golson will fail.  Hell, he could do really well.  Cousins was a three star and he turned out okay.  What he's pointing out is that you're denigrating the most commonly accepted metric for evaluating potential (star value) in favor of high-school stats which are ridiculously variable and impossible to compare between players (variable team talent, SOS, etc).  His metric incorporates yours plus all those other intangibles in an effort at parity.
