Lacrosse opens season with 20-10 loss at UNC

Men's lacrosse kicked off the season at 1 PM s the North Carolina Tar Heels.  They were only down 10-6 in the 3rd before the #8-ranked UNC took over.

No shame in opening the season with a loss vs a team like UNC.  Should serve as a good tune-up  for next Sunday's game vs Colgate in O'Baan.

Looks like UNC is pulling away.  Logan, starting goalie, was either pulled at the half, or is injured.  Hoping it's nothing serious.  The score at the half was encouraging, hopefully we can get some momentum in the 4th.  KJ with 4 goals at attack.

Also, can't believe UNC doesn't have streaming for this game.  Furman had free streaming for their game.  Get with the times UNC!!!!

John Paul better chill with scheduling these games we have no chance of winning whatsoever.

Does 0 good.

We already play the sport's two best teams every year in Johns Hopkins and Maryland.

Speaking of shitty defense, why are JP's teams still getting lit up and giving up 20+ in games like this?  I know UNC is good, but damn, that looks bad. And they were only down 4 in the 3rd.   Defense was always a strength of his teams but whatever he's doing these days is not working...

I hope this just means UNC is really good (and that's very possible) because I was expecting us to come close to contending this year. By contending, I don't mean for a title, I just mean we should be in almost every game and win the majority of our games. I'm not expecting us to beat all the top teams on our schedule, but it would be nice to pull off one big win against a PSU/OSU type, but we need to win every game against the non-top tier programs.

I hear you man.  I would like to see them compete in these games a little more too.  I don't expect Michigan to win against top teams like UNC either but I was hoping they'd start closing the gap and lose 13-10 or 17-12 in games like this.

Here are some highlights.  They're all UNC though - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEssXnI-zFY

Schedule is not easy but there are lots of winnable games on it.  You're right - they definitely have to lock up wins vs the lesser opponents on the sched.  8 Ws is not out of the question. But they need to bounce back this week.  Colgate has been decent the last few years but Michigan has an advantage in that they already have a game under their belt (it will be COlgate's first of the season) and it's at O-Baan.
