I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

There are a couple of good users on Mgo, but for the most part it is filled with delusional people.

Honestly...the shit talking on twitter from OSU fans is incredible. I know there are bad apples in every bunch, but Marshall is retweeting a ton of bad stuff from OSU fans.

I'm sure I'd be bitter too but taking it out on a kid you didn't know 24 hours ago on twitter is completely brainless...

He's a year away from signing...this shows his commitment to programs...it's a tough decision for 18 year old kids but I'm from the old school: Your word is everything. Don't 'commit' unless your done.

Can we just put it in the banner of mgoblog and mgoblue and the freep and WN an wherever the hell else people look or this info "don't talk shit to recruits under any circumstances"? The kid was committed for two days and they're still at the top of his list but they're just driving him towards us. I love it in this case but idiot Michigan fans have done this as well as we all know. So frustrating when its your fellow fans.

For those who follow recruiting closer than I do (Magnus?): how good is this kid, where is is ranked and how does he compare to other targets that we have at the position?

Always great to steal one from OSU, but just curious if the excitement is more about that or this kid's potential?

I would throw a tweet out there to Tom VH or whoever would listen and announce that I committed to tsio or Notre Dame or whatever, just so that Michigan would take notice!  that would be the best marketing of all time, especially before the star rankings come out!  At the very least it would be mentioned on this board and get a couple hundred posts!

Based on the timing, I think it has to be assumed this had something to do with the turtle story and its subsequent denial.  Either the story disturbed him, or once it was debunked, it ruined the school's mystique.  The lesson to take from this is that telling stories about legendary coaches exposing their genitals to reptiles rarely--if ever--pays off when it comes to recruiting.

Not to sound negative, but do we really need this kid?  Obviously you don't want to see top in state kids go to Ohio or State, but this is going to already be a strong year for us for DLine.  We have already secured a commitment from Mone.  We will most likely be in the top group of Mcdowell and Hand.  I'd almost rather see us throw an offer out to Gelen Robinson.  Rivals has already listed G Rob as a 4 star, while Marshall doesn't have a rating yet.  I don't think we really have room in this class to take more than 3 D-lineman overall.

Rivals? They have 1 midwest analyst (had zero for about a year) and about 17 southeast analysts.  They are biased in rankings.

247 has Marshall at #246 overall, #14 sde, #6 in the state of Michigan.

Looking at the kid, he is physically developed, very athletic.  This is a kid Michigan definitely wants.

Losing Webb and Marshall to OSU sucked bad.  Very glad they lost Marshall.  Webb may be the top player in the state (i personally think he is #2, and VERY close to MdDowell for the #1 spot) so i hope Michigan can flip him.  He may be the best prospect to come out of Cass Tech in recent years.

Sorry but I have to respond to your post....

We haven't lost any of the three just quite yet...   and lets not forget, having guys commit to us prematurely only to lose them over the next 12 months...  early committments are sometimes a disadvantage...  look what happened with Conley...  look what happened even with Ward.

Webb we probably won't get, but when it gets into next fall, they may want to stay close to home...    the summer before I enrolled at Michigan, it wasn't real until the few days prior, when I was getting butterflies and cold feet.

I'm not going to be the ohio state guy that says we didn't want him because obviously we offered him a scholarship and meyer knows more than me but we did just have a pretty amazing haul of defensive ends the last two years so if one of them were to decommit i'm glad it was him. On the flip side I did read a bunch of post when he committed about how you didn't need/want him and even still some of the same now, my question is why wouldnt you want/need him when you have only taken 4 true defensive ends the last 2 years combined? 1 of which (strobel) looks more like a defensive tackle? Not being a wise guy or anything just an honest question

Some people like to pretend we don't want him when we don't have him. We want him. I do think we have offers out to better DEs, but he's a talent and we want him. I'm not sure what you're expecting to hear. You're an ohio fan so you obviously know all about delusional fans and pretending to win recruiting battles. And also pretending to win games with intelligible players and cheating coaches. Sorry. I tried to stop but couldn't.

Delusional fans? Yeah we have some but you are right up there with us. And you can try to use the cheating coach or inelligble players twist if you want but we didn't pretend to win those game we won. Yeah that was 10 out of the last 12 and the future looks promising. Look I'm here for friendly debate and a different perspective not to take jabs at your team
