Kyle Singler to play in Spain NOT Detroit this season
not sure if this was posted.. but it looks like Kyle Singler won't be playing for Detroit Pistons this season. He has opted to play for a team in Spain.. they pay better

I have no clue under the new CBA do we own the rights to sign him for X number of years or what?

I know that Ricky Rubio was drafted by Minnesota in 2009 but stayed and played for Barcelona for two more seasons and only this year is he coming over to play for the Wolves. I'm guessing you draft his rights for 3-4 years or so, and then they relapse maybe?

Good I can't really stand that guy, or the nba.

Great, then don't comment on the post.

the Pistons became really unlikable the last few years and adding Singler was only going to make it worse.

:(
Bummer, was looking forwarded to seeing him in a Pistons uni. Hopefully it works out in the future.

I hope he falls in love with a sensational Spanish lady and stays.

Don't you mean a Thenthational Thanish lady? Give it that castilian spanish lisp.

Hopefully he uses that Madrid money to buy some shampoo. It looks like he hasn't showered since the final.
November 29th, 2011 at 7:49 PM ^
He wasn't going to make the team anyway. This way, he can get some pro expereince and if he shows needed improvement then we own him, but if not, then its no big deal and it didnt cost the team any money

He's playing for Real Madrid.
I used to not care about him at all. Now he is dead to me.
November 29th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
Agreed. I don't want him on the Pistons if he is going to be playing for Real Madrid this season.

Trying to figure out why I clicked on this thread since I hate Singler and the NBA

the Piston's roster is now, on average, MUCH less ugly.
November 29th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
Exactly. If we're going to stink, we might as well look good!
November 29th, 2011 at 9:07 PM ^
Good to hear, please stay away from the Pistons!
November 29th, 2011 at 10:22 PM ^
Exactly.
November 29th, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
Wait, there's a professional basketball league in America?
Absolutley stunning. You learn something every day.
November 29th, 2011 at 11:29 PM ^
he was ready yet anyway, so hope he gets a little bit exp and then come in to contribute.

I had an argument with a co-worker last year about all the great moves the pistons were going to make, all the great trades. I tried to explain that the pistons dont have any players of value to trade, and the meager talent that does exist there is so tragically overpaid as to be impossible to move. He wasn't ready to hear it, and I'm still waiting on these fantastic trades...

Amen
thats good news for the Pistons
now they gotta get rid of charlie v and ben g
November 30th, 2011 at 12:43 AM ^
WIth the amnesty clause in the new CBA, both of those players, as well as Jason Maxiell and RIp Hamilton, could be cut at no cost to the salary cap (the guaranteed portions of the contract would still be doled out, but the salary would no longer count against the books).
It all depends on Rodney Stuckey. If he's more of a full-time SG with the acquisition of PG Brandon Knight then one of Gordon or Hamilton HAS to go.

I think those moves killed Bill Davidson... "You spent $90 Million on who?!!"

If Tayshaun Prince doesn't re-sign with the Pistons, this could be a silly move for Singler if he likes playing SF and he would like playing in the NBA, as the competition at SF would be the weakest of all positions.
Austin Daye is hardly a complete product at SF and wouldn't start for many-if any at all-other teams in the league. Jonas Jerebko is coming off an achilles injury and has allegedly bulked up to the point that he could be an exclusive post player.
I guess this thread is OT, but I can't stand the people that come in to an otherwise obvious NBA/Pistons thread to put down the league or the team.

Good, that's the ugliest piece of shit that has ever played for Duke. He should have never been drafted, and he looks like a goat. I promise, the Pistons are better without him this year.
