Kyle Kalis Interview
Hey guys, I was fortunate enough to talk with Kyle Kalis earlier this evening. The results....were interesting. Here's the interview: Kyle Kalis

I think I might love him. I mean, I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but I think I want him to meet my mom.
Great work as always.
January 18th, 2012 at 9:52 AM ^
Why is your mom hot?
January 18th, 2012 at 9:57 AM ^
Because she was born that way.
January 18th, 2012 at 10:05 AM ^
Touche
(damn that comma key!)

Sounds a lot like Will campbell.
3 years from now evryone will be saying the same thing. Wellllllllllll, maybe this year.
January 18th, 2012 at 12:08 AM ^
so we open 2012 season with a W.

January 18th, 2012 at 12:10 AM ^
Yeah, that one did it for me. I loved Pipkins most, then I loved them equally when he talked about spilling Ohio blood, then I got put over the top by Pavarotti.
I want to talk to him about classical music and see what he's got to say
January 18th, 2012 at 12:13 AM ^
1. Between him and Pipkins, a Michigan player might commit murder on the field in the next four years.
2. Kyle wanted to keep chatting tomorrow, and I planned to ask him more about the classical music, so I'll be sure to fill you in.
January 18th, 2012 at 12:54 AM ^
Aquaman, I look forward to reading shit on tremendous every day... IDK how you do it...
But, you are very TOMVH-esque.... no joke.
January 18th, 2012 at 8:11 AM ^
Just about right. Kalis v Pipkins is gonna be quite a show in Spring ball.
January 18th, 2012 at 12:11 AM ^
Kyle: There will be blood on the field and it won't be mine.
I am staying the hell off that field.....
January 18th, 2012 at 12:13 AM ^
Nessun Dorma a big favorite of soccer fans. Vincero!

January 18th, 2012 at 12:15 AM ^
Loving this kid! I just wish he had a year to soak up Molk's madness; HOWEVA, I'm pretty sure Lewan will assist in keeping that tSIO hatred going. I love the wall that we are building for Morris....just need some playmakers to cap it off. You have to think those RB recruits out there are scouting this stuff out.

Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor...
January 18th, 2012 at 12:43 AM ^
Tremendous, Tremendous, Tremendous
January 18th, 2012 at 12:45 AM ^
I like Pavarotti too, especially when he's covered by Will Ferrell at the Catalina Wine Mixer!!!!
January 18th, 2012 at 9:22 AM ^
I believe it is the "Fucking Catalina Wine Mixer", but I forgive you for your confusion
January 18th, 2012 at 12:50 AM ^
I love that he gave people his address. No one came. He's scary good. Also just scary. I'm excited.
January 18th, 2012 at 12:52 AM ^
One of my favorite parts, when he's talking about the backlash in Ohio when he chose Michigan:
I gave my address out to about 20 people and told them to come find me. Nobody came.
That's pretty badass.
January 18th, 2012 at 12:53 AM ^
The funniest interview yet. I wasn't sure when to laugh, but I think that's what made it so funny
January 18th, 2012 at 12:55 AM ^
Wow amazing
January 18th, 2012 at 12:59 AM ^
Thanks - can't wait until he takes the field.
January 18th, 2012 at 1:02 AM ^
Just wow..Kyle Mother F*#kin Kalis
January 18th, 2012 at 1:04 AM ^
This appeals to my interests. Also, you are very good at what you do. Thank you for bringing your talents (and connections!) to this board.
January 18th, 2012 at 1:09 AM ^
Finally found my signature!

The band sometimes plays "Nessun Dorma" as a warm up at practices.
January 18th, 2012 at 10:06 AM ^
I think they play Tschesnokoff's "Salvation is Created", not Nessun Dorma. FWIW, either one is absulutely gorgeous. Imagine hearing a 375 member band play this as the sun rises on a crisp Game Day morning. This video does not do it justice, though.
It's also a Glee Club favorite:

Things have changed. We play Nessun Dorma, Salvation died about 3 years ago.
January 18th, 2012 at 4:22 PM ^
Good to know.

Every interview, assuming you're quoting yourself directly, it's immediately apparent why you're so good at this. You are outstanding at keeping the interview light while still getting the same quality of information as other folks doing what you do. It not only makes an awesome experience for the kids you interview, but it makes a great read for your audience. Fantastic.
You also have your own voice. I love Brian and other mgoblog contributors, but I love your style, also.
Thanks for the action and keep up the great work!
January 18th, 2012 at 1:45 AM ^
Great interview! I'm loving having this kid in a winged helmet more and more every day.
January 18th, 2012 at 2:10 AM ^
Get ready for a stupid question but I've never bothered to find this out: Is it legit to contact a recruit that's solid with a school and not taking visits ike Meyer did in this case? I've obviously heard of soft commits etc but I was under the impression that when a recruit is solid other coaches shouldn't be calling- or is he fair game until he signs on the dotted line?
January 18th, 2012 at 2:19 AM ^
Fair game until they sign. It used to be an unwritten rule not to, but modern day that doesn't really exist.
January 18th, 2012 at 2:58 AM ^
starting left guard in jerry world, book it
January 18th, 2012 at 3:11 AM ^
Reading this interview is like watching The Sopranos. I love every second of it, but I'm also a little scared to go outside of my door afterwards.
January 18th, 2012 at 3:40 AM ^
Dude, Aquaman- you are on fire with these interviews lately. Thanks for posting these! I love reading these interviews.
January 18th, 2012 at 5:31 AM ^
Why do I get the feeling that we may end up with a team of Opera singing hit men? There are some seriously disturbed recruits coming in and I'm getting excited! Is there any way we can fast-forward to next season without giving up summer or aging anymore? Screw it, let's go anyway!
January 18th, 2012 at 7:12 AM ^
Any ideas?
January 18th, 2012 at 7:44 AM ^
...but someone told me about this interview, I'd think he was a defensive player!
Kalis vs defensive linemen is going to remind me of Brock Lesnar TKOing Frank Mir! lmao

Thats a beautiful quote by a future Michigan Man!
January 18th, 2012 at 10:36 AM ^
...and the way he cracked himself up after making all of those super aggressive statements. It almost makes him seem even scarier. Better watch out, Ohio!
