I'm a member over on bucknuts and I was definitely turned away from some of the people on there. wishing injury tons kid by will never know or ever meet just for the fact that he spurned their team? pretty pathetic. a lot of the fans just seem to be in a cloudy haze and just want to place blame on anyone but themselves. they just seem completely lost in their own lives that they have to be internet tough guys all of a sudden. I find myself posting less and less on the front row because I just want to bash my head in because of the content of the threads.

I made that exact same transition.  Memories of Canada trips under the influence of Mad Dog have been forever burned into my brain.  I think I rode back across the border in a trunk with an unknown girl one night . . . I suspect the Border Patrol would not find that funny these days.  Good times.

No way.  I think they will need to get truckloads of Four Loko, often called "blackout in a can," delivered to their party stores.  Maybe they should all drink a couple cans a day for the next five years, and then they might wake up to a decent team again.

I mean, I wanted him at UM, but I'd rather him at Wisco than OSU.

Watch me regret this in 4 years when OSU is 6-6 and we play Wisconsin in the B1G Champ Game.

this is probably bad for Michigan because Wisconsin is such an OL factory and they're putting together a huge OL class, but....

It's not bad for us at all.  Not only are we not in the same division as Wisconsin, we aren't even playing them for four years, unless we happen to meet in the BTCG.  Basically, it's like we're not even conference rivals until 2015.  (I hate that that's the case, but given that it is, losing a guy to UW is no biggie.)

Glad he didn't go to OSU, but sad that he stayed in conference. I think UM doesn't play Wisconsin again for a while (4 years?), so we may not face him more than once.

That is funny, though. I know OSU fans felt he was "theirs" as soon as he got offered. Nice dash of cold reality for Buckeye fans re: what this scandal is doing to their recruiting efforts.

unbelievably hilarious.

For those who don't follow recruiting that closely, everyone has been saying he's been waiting on an OSU offer for like 6 months now.  He finally got the offer today, and immediately announced he was going to commit, which made people draw the obvious conclusion. To commit to Wisconsin after all that is just unbelievably hilarious.

This surprised the hell out of me. Got an OSU offer and announced a press conference. Seems like he's OSU all the way, then pulls this out? I like this kid already. Woulda been great to have him, but at least it's not OSU

Wisconsin only has 5 recruits, but they're slowly putting together a very strong recruiting class.  OSU will really have their work cut out for them in the B1G East for at least a few years.

That's a complete shocker.   I thought that the general consensus was that he was just waiting for an OSU offer before committing and then to commit to another B10 school the day after receiving that offer....   Was that some type of f-u to OSU for holding off on offering him?

lulz

Would have liked him to go blue but I appreciate the humour in this. Dodson is officially the second casualty of Tresselgate joining Tom Strobel.

As long as he ends up anywhere but OSU I am happy. The more damage to OSU's recruting the better. It's about time they get what they deserve.

I'd be fine with them being crippled for a decade or two.  The rivalry's been around for what, a hundred years or so, and it'll be around for much, much longer.  It'll withstand Ohio getting a thorough beating from the NCAA.

Back to the topic though--well played, young man.  Well played.

I agree with you.  I just think it's an extremely sticky situation for the NCAA.  If they are only punished 2-4 years for 10(?) years of cheating, doesn't that make it seem like cheating is worth it?  Not to mention the bowl appearance for every one of those years, a NCAA ship, and millions of dollars in revenue.  It's difficult to come up with a punishment.

Bucknut fans must be in hysterics...I had a conversation today where they were SO HAPPY Dodson was going to commit to them this week.

Hineygate must be in meltdown.

Definitely a shocker and a nasty surprise for Ohio. But for us, remember this: We don't play Wisconsin for the next four years unless it's the B1G championship game.

Anyone that says that Michigan wasn't in it for Dodson is wrong. The coaches really wanted him. I'm not sure how solid he is, but there's a long way until February.

We were led to believe yes.  They just offered him and then Dodson announces he's ready to decide.  Common thinking was that the OSU caused the decision for the Buckeyes.  But he decided to go to Wisco.

In other words... he waits until OSU offers before going to the only team that beat them this season.  Recruiting drama.

My new acronym for the day? ABOSU, as in "Anywhere But Ohio State University".

I agree, we want to gobble up every good lineman in the midwest, but we can't get them all.

Boy, the Bucks must be livid right now. I am gonna have to go to 11 Worriers and check.

On Wisconsin ! Enjoy some of those cheese curds for me, big fella . . . .
