Kyle Dodson Question

Submitted by Wolverman on

When Dodson commited to Wisconsin a few months ago Michigan was in his top 5. With the coaching changes at Wisconsin and Ohio, Dodson started looking again. After the news of Ohio's class being full and Michigan still being on the prowl for Offensive linemen has there been any push for Dodson? I'm not sure if he ever made it to AA for a visit and I see he is going or went to East Lansing for his last official visit.

I'll be surprised if OSU doesn't lock another recruit or two by NSD. Just because some newspaper says "they're full!" doesn't mean the coaches at OSU see it the same way. I'm not trying to imply that Meyer will pull some shenanigans (I'm also not trying to imply that he wouldn't), but it is possible that the OSU coaches know more about their team than a sports reporter.

OSU fans are pretty confident that he ends up with them.

I think this one is probably a tossup because of Wisky's coaching changes...otherwise, he would be a badger.

I was reading that cleveland.com article and ohio class even with having 59 scholarship football players and 23 commits does'nt have to be full. They could take 3 more recruits this year and break the 9 scolarships up over the next 2 years and be OK. I was asking this assuming Ohio class was full up and dodson obviously not that happy with Wisconsin.

We get it, but you're wrong. Some people know things. Some people know a LOT of things.  Following recruiting is a matter of separating wheat from chaff, but you can't be all "wheat doesn't exist."

If you don't like it, GTFO. It may come as a shock, but no one on the internet gives two damns what you say. If you don't like a thread, don't click on it. Easy enough. Don't try to be all Clint Eastwood, Lawman of the Intertubes. Go back downstairs in your mom's basement, look at that awesome pin-up of Kathy Ireland you've had since you were a wee child, and avoid procreating for the sake of humanity.

All good points.  Although my point is this:  threads that are nothing but pure speculation have no merit and should be avoided as they are a total waste of time.  I have been coming to this website for a very long time and felt compelled to post after reviewing the countless b.s. posts regarding recruiting.  What amazes me is that you are consistently wrong and yet it does not seem to alter your future behavior/predictions.  That is very strange . .  . Now, if you will excuse me, I have to get back to the Kathy Ireland poster and the lotion.

But you haven't read the posts, apparently.  Most of them, especially those by the reputable sources on this site (Ace, aqua, etc), tell you to take from it what you will.  Most of them (this one is just a question, so it doesn't count) say "this is what he said, take from it what you will."

They aren't stating it as fact.  They speak to their beliefs, or thoughts, or quote a recruit. I haven't seen a "Play X is going Blue, I can just feel it" thread in a while. People in the comments may say things a little more matter-of-factly, but don't lump all recruiting news into the "hokum" category.

Wisconsin and Ohio State are definitely in the lead for Dodson, but USC is making a very late push for him as well.  I believe Lane Kiffin is visiting to him this weekend and has so far made a very good impression. I think Dodson's grandmother is going to factor a lot into his decision because she has raised him ever since his mother passed away. Chances are Dodson would like to be at a school close enough for his grandmother to see him play. There's a rumor that one of Dodson's asst. coach is still pushing him towards Wisconsin because he's a former Badger and Ohio native that never got offered by OSU. So the major pros & cons of each school is:

1. OSU - Close to home and family, but the last coaching staff didn't show him much interest

2. Wisconsin - Originally commited to here, but has since lost a good chunk of its coaching staff

3. USC -  Has a proven record of send O-Linemen onto the pros, but got into the race pretty late (also extremely far away from home)

Michigan might be able to make a late push as well, but I think Dodson has solidified his top 3.
