Thatcher Demko (G, Boston College) and Jimmy Vesey (F, Harvard) are the other two finalists.

Vesey actually had a better season last year, statistically. Demko started very hot this year and has been good all season; he is the only one to make the Frozen Four.
Anyone other than Connor would be a crime.

Vesey is there because he's a senior. Compher was robbed
Vesey is there because he is very good. He was there last season and had a fine season this year. Compher was great, but it's not at all surprising that all the Michigan votes went to Connor. I'm not bothered by this.
Demko is gonna win because Hobey voters have proven time and again that tournament time is way more important than regular season.
Not in 2008 when Porter won it, nor in 2011 when Andy Miele won, or 2012 when Jack Connolly won.
It helps quite a but to be on a successful team, but then team and individual success tend to go together.
What about Jack Campbell? *still crying about it*
Porter had a good regional weekend leading into the FF.
Not a chance. He's a goalie. Goalies don't win.
Is there a reason we didn't get Cam Johnson (North Dakota goalie) from Troy, MI? He's a Richter Award finalist and led the nation in GAA and save percentage. We've had problems in net for some time now and we let one of the best in the country end up at UND.
Nobody knew he would be one of the best in the country. He is a late bloomer, a guy who finally got going years out of high school. Nobody knew he'd perform this well.
And he played junior hockey in Fargo.
To be honest I don't think he'd be that much of an upgrade in net--Michigan's major problems are in front of goal. Racine was fine.
Despite what many in the open thread vs North Dakota were bemoaning, I thought Racine played really well vs North Dakota considering the onslaught he was facing. He's still prone to mental lapses but the main problem is in front of him
Tomek was the assumed starter before he got hurt. How was anyone supposed to know their backup would flourish like this?
the perception of the Big Ten being weak plus Connor's relative non-production in the tournament. I still think he'll win by a bit, but if he had gotten a goal or two in the tournament I'd feel rosier
