That article is from yesterday, so nothing too new. But I still think Hoke has a chance to get Frost to rethink his decision. Being a Michigan fan all his life has to count for something, doesn't it? Of course he could have just said that and not meant it.

Yesterday's news....Nothing is official until he signs on that line....Michigan coaches r coming to see him this week so hopefully they can sway him!

What I was thinking is that the coaches were confident on Frost wanting to come to Mich, Frost only want Mich if he could try WR first.  They prioritized Frost over Lucien, but wanted to cover their bases and offered Lucien on D.  With Frost confirmed gone, maybe they swing their opinions a bit..........

It's an admitted stretch, but it's the only way I can explain the whole Lucien scenario without wanting to break out my Scotch.

Thanks for the old news, but its not over until National Signing Day.  Before you post it tomorrow, we just hired Greg Mattison the Baltimore Ravens Defensive Coordinator.

I am willing to bet that Kris Frost has heard of the hire.

Mattison is also going straight to the recruiting trail instead of heading to Ann Arbor, per Sam Webb.

Honest question: does Mattison recruit well? I know he is a great DC and teacher of defense, but he looks to be quite old and older guys seem to be less interested in recruiting. Also, is he bringing in his own position coaches? Are they young and heavy into recruiting? I feel like we need to know these things before we get super excited about anything yet.

Someone can confirm this as well.  I heard on Sam Webb podcast that Mattison likes to recruit and is a great recruiter.  This may explain why his resume is mainly in college. He was unavailable to be interviewed because he is already on the road recrutiing.

I hope Countess and Cooper.

HD, come back.  As a RR supporter, and one that likes Hoke, we need you to come back.  Supporting Hoke is not turning on RR.  I will support RR wherever he goes.

I have read that he is a good recruiter but that came from former players.

Dude, I personally have enjoyed your rants the last week or so.  I am a spread guy and a RR guy and have felt pretty shitty the whole way this thing has gone down.  I think a few too many people have the "Hoke" colored glasses on and can't see how much better of a position we would be in currently with RR still in the fold.

I do think GM is a great hire but I still have reservations at our staffs age and our new offense...but all we can do is hope for the best.

Also I am finding NAIA team to root for to help pass the time durring the transition period.

Mattison will arrive in Ann Arbor on Thursday and said he is ready to start recruiting with the beginning of the national signing period on Feb. 2. Michigan has 10 commitments and will host on-campus visits this weekend after canceling the last two.

"He's one of the best recruiters out there — he's a helluva recruiter," Irons said. "I'd put him in anybody's house and he'll sell them on Michigan and will be genuine about it."

Despite being out of college coaching the last three seasons, Mattison said he doesn't believe he's lost his skill as a recruiter.

"Don't worry about me recruiting," Mattison said with a laugh. "Recruiting is all about where you're at. If you really believe in the school you're at … it's easy to sell a place like Michigan."

Someone has done this. Early in his career his defenses were in the 40-50 national rank, then vastly improved during his time in Florida and Baltimore. I don't see the point in re-posting research that has be done and you can find if you are interested

Which guys are going to be among the 15 who get cut to trim the team from the 100 they sign up to the 85 they are allowed to play?

This is a question any guy joining an SEC team needs to think about.
