Kozan Watch: Avery Young the 5th OL to Auburn
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=8&toinid=747&yr=2012
Auburn just got the #5 OT per Scout in Avery Young, giving them 5 OL in this class (including a 3-star GA guard that signed earlier today).
I predict this addition (he was down to a top three until today) will fill Auburn's need at OL and Kozan will be told to move on (or, maybe that's just wishful thinking....)

"Avery Young" I read as "A very young". First thing I thought was "how old is Kozan?" thinking it was a clue at who it was.

One can hope this effects Kozan...

Those old SNL's never get old

He's at Iowa until we hear otherwise.

Being a no show at he signing event at your HS is a pretty big sign you havent decided yet..
@AaronMatas (Denver News)
Alex Kozan a no-show at Valor Signing Ceremony. Early rumor is he is no longer committed to Iowa. Working to get that info is@LeslieRFox

Hopefully he'll go Blue with Auburn off the table. Iowa? Who likes corn that much anyway?

I really hate to say it, but this feels like a man race with Auburn and Iowa. I was really hoping we could snag him too.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:42 PM ^
5 at Auburn could affect Diamond as well.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:43 PM ^
Diamond is pretty much universally believed to be down to UM and Arkansas.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
Diamond is really a Mich Arkansas and Wisconsin race
February 1st, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
maybe he forgot today was signing day.

February 1st, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
He'd be the 5th at Michigan...and Diamond could be the 6th.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
Haven't seen the depth chart at Auburn but can't be thinner than ours. Not to mention that with the loss of Stacey we have a lot more guys who look like tackles than we do centers/guards.
February 1st, 2012 at 2:49 PM ^
The assumption being that Auburn had 3 OL as of yesterday, got 2 more today and "filled up".
Not suggesting Kozan wouldn't go because they have 5, suggesting Auburn may be at their limit for the position.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:04 PM ^
but 6th at Auburn.
Also have to assume they have more bodies on the line from past classes...us not so much.

he's not communicating with according to one source
February 1st, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
With the class that we have now, and Diamond being a possibility, wouldn't that hurt us as well?

QUIT PLAYING WITH MY EMOTIONS KOZAN!
I already stayed up late one night awaiting your commitment, why do you do this to me?
February 1st, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
I hope he is right
February 1st, 2012 at 2:52 PM ^
buckle up, just in case
February 1st, 2012 at 3:00 PM ^
Stop with that
February 1st, 2012 at 2:56 PM ^
We have 4 OL and the possibility of another with Diamond. I do not think this helps us.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:02 PM ^
Yes we may have 5 OL but we have very few interior C/OG types. Would be interested to see Auburn class break down. OL positions are not as interchangeable as many think.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:02 PM ^
You can never have enough linemen. I'll take all we can get. Kozan wouldn't be competing for the same position as Diamond anyway, so this shouldn't affect his decision.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:06 PM ^
Kozan projects to center. Early playing time is a concern for Diamond but he does not project to center. Simple as that
Edit: Third times the charm?
February 1st, 2012 at 3:06 PM ^
Kozan would be the only one projected to play center
February 1st, 2012 at 3:06 PM ^
Mike Farrell seems to be under the impression that he's still with Iowa, and Auburn is just making it tougher.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:06 PM ^
Since he is a center prospect for us, having 6 potential lineman if Diamond commits isnt a huge deal.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:07 PM ^
Finishing with Kozan and Diamond would be fantastic.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:09 PM ^
We were going to take 28...if we get both, that still only puts us at 27. We could take both AND another player if we wanted. I'm not saying we will (shit, here comes a wait, maybe Diggs?! post)...I'm just saying we can.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:11 PM ^
So....you're saying you have secret recruting info on Diggs?!?! Please tell!

Ace Williams told me hes coming
February 1st, 2012 at 3:23 PM ^
It's not an issue of whether or not we have room. It's an issue of whether or not either of those guys wants the be the 6th OL commit in a class.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:34 PM ^
Why would he care? 6 OL but he's the only C.
February 1st, 2012 at 3:39 PM ^
These positions aren't etched in stone. A guy projected to be a guard could end up at center.
February 1st, 2012 at 5:36 PM ^
They look like OT/OGs. Center is a spot that seems wide open at this point.
Another note on the Michigan taking 6 OL. It's a little missleading in most cases. At most places, no matter what, an O-lineman will redshirt (with very few exceptions, maybe 1 for a team). Michigan will have 2-3 that don't next year. That means they are essentially, with respect to O-linemen, part of last years class. It makes this years class (if Michigan gets 6) a split of ~3/4
February 1st, 2012 at 4:19 PM ^
. . . if we don't pay attention to him he will want us more.
February 1st, 2012 at 5:04 PM ^
Did Kozan say when he was going to sign?
February 1st, 2012 at 5:14 PM ^
You might say he's the ultimate "silent commit."
February 1st, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
I am happy with our current class at this point. Makes no difference to me if we get one or both. If we do, great, I would love to have them. If we don't, it's not the end of the world, Team #133 will be just fine.
February 1st, 2012 at 5:40 PM ^
but this is really more of a Team 135 thing...
February 1st, 2012 at 5:46 PM ^
We are due to win a coin flip, right?
February 1st, 2012 at 5:55 PM ^
Local guy here in Denver says Kozan deciding between Iowa or flipping to Michigan, no mention of Auburn. Talking with his coach right now.
February 1st, 2012 at 6:07 PM ^
that it is either Iowa or M for Koazn
