Kovacs looking good on this series. Form tackle on one play and held up the runner couple times later for an assisted tackle. I was right in on the play another time. Glad to see the guy hasn't lost his nose for the football.

I am only watching this game to watch Kovacs. He has not disappointed so far.

Me too...I remember thinking to myself that there had to be someone on the roster who was better than Kovacs. You can't help but be happy for him for proving people like us how wrong we often are (I admittedly also thought Gardner a better WR prospect).

I hope he makes the team, but I'm not too optimistic.

Stephen Ross won't let him get cut!

Ha I certainly hope not, because he is fun to watch.

there was a post earlier calling Rager the biggest asshole on this site and I couldn't help but think that you never, ever, post anything even remarkably positive...
love you,
jdon
I love you too, though I do feel the need to see other people.
In all seriousness, I am sorry that you are offended. It must be very hard to read opinions about athletes on a blog devoted to opinions about athletes.

As far as I know, the only deal right now is the free agent contract that Kovacs signed after the draft in April. Moneywise,my understanding of those is that teams work from a pool of around $75,000 for all UDFA and that each team has some sort of different scheme by which they pay out the signing bonuses (usually a few thousand each).
It would be cool to see Jordan earn a roster spot and earn the full $405,000 if not more. It would mean that he had done what he had hoped yet again and earned a shot as a walk-on (or the NFL equivalent of it, in this case). From a Kyle Meinke article back in May:
"That’s my advantage -- I’ve been through this before. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, so to say, at the University of Michigan. Far from it, to be honest with ya. I had to walk-on twice. I had to basically convince the coaches to take me, and just had to be stubborn about it. I’m confident I can do it again in the NFL."

Showed what he's best at: smarts, serious tackling, ability to read the plays. And that last leaping tackle was Gallonesque.

2 tackles for Kovacs. Awesome!
Apparently no touches for Denard or Henne though :(

Argh.
[falls on own sword]
The new countdown to kickoff is up in case someone wants to make a thread.

his assigment was the cut back. He stepped into the gap and when the runner committed to the edge got caught up with the safety and db who were both being held. I think Kovacs played that well enough.

Maimi @ Jacksonville
Two teams I usually could care less about, but will definitely try to watch some Blue on the field!
