kOT: What To Do TODAY??! Thread
I don't want to speculate how long that will last, but assuming it won't be until Monday what do you plan to do with the rest of your day?
That'll extend it.
...you knock'em down.
what is this, rcmb?
I am going to Breakfast. I live in upstate (eastern) NY.
I am going to order ALL THE ORANGES THEY HAVE. Now, I think what you may have read was that I'll order a lot of oranges. But what I want is ALL THE ORANGE THEY HAVE
...but I love you.
Welp, I guess I know what I'm doing today.
I'll be implementing a plan of work around the house, some job-type work, and ...HAIR OF THE DOG.
I'm debating on if I want to go back and watch every tournament game and totally consume myself with Michigan Basketball or if I want to go run the dog, go to the store, grill, get outside and totally get away from everything NCAA/Sports related.
It's one extreme or the other.
I'll probably get started working on my taxes today and trying to find out as much about Louisville as possible.
Study for the PE exam. Whooooo!
Most stressful exam I ever took. Good luck.
What discipline did you take it in? I've studied so much I just want to get it over with now.
Good luck on the PE. I am MSCE '08 and I passed it 2 years ago. Dont overthink it. It will be easier than you think. Have a beer between the morning and afternoon sessions.
What is your favorite hangover cure?/ How large was your bar tab?/ How many shots did you buy in celebration?
Every time I went to get another beer I would buy three and give the other two away.
Spend time with my wife before I get "we don't talk anymore".
There's an easy solution to that. Just have her watch the games with you.
Watch all the talking heads continue to pick against Michigan. It's already started.
Get ready for tomorrow. And generally just enjoy today and all the fun the last three weeks have been watching this team. As somebody who actually remembers the 1976 game believe it or not, I had missed a deep tourny run and the building suspense and excitement of each subsequent game.
That's the wonderful thing about this tourny IMO. Each game brings higher stakes and tougher opponents so each win (if you get them) is just a bit sweeter than the one before. And the acticipation for the next game goes up proportionally as well.
So here we are the precipice. Roughly 34 hours away from jumping........it's been one hellofa fun ride and I'm going to enjoy today and tomorrow a LOT thanks to my team!
I was not paying attention in '76, but I certainly was in '89, '92, and '93.
We are blessed to be in the internet age for this run. Back then, you got a few minutes on ESPN, a Sports section headline in the USA Today, and then . . . . nothing.
No coaches press conferences, no on-demand replays from every angle, no schadenfreude from the other team's blogs, no discussions on your own blogs about matchups, and uniform colors, and game-watching locations.
Nothing. Just roaring silence for 40 hours.
Folks, enjoy this run. Milk it for all it's worth. They don't come along that often.
WE GOIN' TO THE NATTY!!!
If you think today is bad, wait until Monday at work. I'll be useless.
Took a vacation day. There's no way I'm going to be productive and I'd rather just sleep in and do something relaxing in preparation than sit at work counting down the seconds until 5 PM.
My problem is, I'll be equally as useless on Tuesday.
Been running my usual sunday errands around sleepy north port, florida rocking my michigan gear, and have already had four different people start conversations about the game last night. Work tomorrow is going to be the longest eight hours ever.
Probably study for finals. Hopefully go to the gym. Try this new chicken breast slowcooker recipe I found on pintrest.
Gotta work today. What's that Mitch?
That is where I will be. Doing that and sleeping. You have to store up energy for tomorrow because there you will expend it all.
Michigan defense have allowed .87 PPP for the NCAA tourney which would rank them at top 10 in adjD at KenPom.
With Kansas game, Michigan allowed .93 PPP which is still a very good defense.
Defense is the biggest difference between Michigan playing for the national title and staying home. The offense is at their usual self in every game. Defense is another reason why Michigan needs to lean on towards winning the NC.
I found my VHS tape of highlights from the 1989 tournament, and might try to find the game tape from the Seton Hall game. It's around here somewhere. That'll do for a good afternoon of basketball.
But do you have a VCR?
Am I ever glad that I do.
And get that nostalgic feeling.
The BTN actually aired the '89 championship the other day. They probably will again today or tomorrow.
Let's give them a new one to air next week.
With some friends to go see Sting and Dave Mathews!! Not a bad Sunday!
Make pancakes. Clean up house. Spread lawn fertilizer. Clean garage. Take family out to eat.
Btw anyone else have cramps and/or neck stiffness this morning? I must have been tenser than I thought last night because my neck is killing me.
Filling the space that is today will be the Tigers and the chores that I swore up and down I would do today, such as trimming back some shrubs in preparation for spring. That, and do the grocery shopping that I claimed to be "too nervous to do" yesterday, because thanks to snacks last night, the fridge is now officially in sad shape.
I don't know what I will do about work tomorrow - probably hide out in my office and attempt to work...attempt to work. I have a couple meetings tomorrow, but I will be the guy in the corner on his iPad watching the "experts" break this matchup down.
Too nervous to do grocery shoppping? Welcome to March Madness. Isn't a great feeling?
I solved the grocery situation by suggesting we eat a late restaurant lunch yesterday, then dig into the chips, salsa, pretzels, etc. during game time. Worked like a charm. But, like you, the refrigerator and cupboards are bare, so a grocery run is on the to-do list today.
Starting Tuesday morning.
Grocery shopping, clean the apartment, laundry, and drunk plenty of (non-alcoholic) fluids because I have a hangover that could slay a walrus.
re-watching the game. "on-call" for a deployment. IT Problems.
its Sunday so I will pray for a glorious Monday. After a long day of basketball in Atlanta yesterday and the masters and championship tomorrow I will need by rest. This day will last forever.
This morning I'm going to spend time reading about Michigan basketball, finish taxes, and checking MGoBlog every few minutes just to see if there is any new content or threads started that might have something that I have not seen... then I will hit the gym and go shopping for a new truck before going to the Blazers game.
I wish I wore a pedometer last night. I'm tired from pacing, cheering, and stressing out while watching the game. We got together with friends last night to watch the Final Four and my wife made this comment to them, "I tried to warn you what he is like when watching Michigan. Don't expect him to talk with you much".
Oh, I also need to start planning my subtle trash talking for my Sparty boss, which often includes taking the high road because that drives him crazy.
Last night after I bought my plane ticket and the ticket to the game I was wired. Needless to say I did not sleep at all last night; I laid there thinking at some point I would fall asleep and it never happened.
To watch jv dominate the yankees and then I have ordered wrestlemania for tonight. I will admit, wm is still a guilty pleasure
I'm going golfing, getting hammered, passing out, working, then it's on
I'm thinking golf as well. That and a lot of water.
Spend time with the kids, swim, go to the movies... And look at MGoBlog every 3 minutes
To kill time today, I plan on trolling the board a little bit, practicing my wit. Also, it is either off topic or it is not off topic. There is no kinda.
I am going to go to the aquarium, the World of Coke, and a house of prayer. Duh.
Don't go on the 4-D ride at World of Coke...just don't
I'll be day drinking to make up for not raging last night as it was impossible to get to the bar everywhere in downtown ATL! Maybe the Sting concert. Also gonna go watch the division ii NCG - it's free at Phillips arena! Go metro state!
What did I do today? Booked last minute flights to Raleigh, meeting up with my brother in law, and driving down to Atlanta for the game.
If nothing else happens today, I'd say I had a pretty good day.
Beautiful day in Raleigh today. I'm flying out of Raleigh tomorrow for my honeymoon in Mexico. If it wasn't for the trip, I'd be driving down to Atanta myself.
Securing my extra ticket to a Wolverine fan. I live here in Atlanta and last night was Krazy up in this city..I got back around 1am and naturally I had to go IMMEDIATELY watch the DVR...then it was 4am and I was jacked up. went to bed at 6am had to get up at 715am to go get my tickets...Then found a deseperate Wolverine fan here in town from craigslist..Told him he could have it or face value...there was about a minute lapse.....I think he fainted....making a short story long hes on his way to pick it up...I wasnt going to let that ticket go UNLESS it was to a Wolverine....I took the two weeks of the tournment off months ago because I KNEW that having the Final Four HERE with MICHIGAN was my dream come true ..AND IT FREAKING HAPPENED!!!!! the rest of my day will be spent sleeping with the semi final game running in the background....GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
