KJ Costello no longer visiting?
You fine.
Until mods say otherwise.

Or he just doesn't want to leave California.
There could be a million reasons why he no longer wants to visit. It's been widely reported that the only reason he was ever considering Michigan was because of Harbaugh and Stanford was his dream school and USC is his "hometown" school.
I bet if Harbaugh left Michigan and went to Washington, a good amount of this board would still go to Michigan (if offered as a 5* prospect) even though we all love Harbaugh.
And on't know how the cold could get to him when he's all the way out in California. That's a long way for Ann Arbor cold to reach him without him visiting.
Yes, he apparently was thinking of committing, but deWeaver beat him to it last year. So while Harbaugh may have piqued Costello's interest again, it doesnt sound like he's the only reason.
This is the funny part. Costello almost committed to fucking Hoke??? but won't consider Michigan with Harbaugh?
wat. the fuck.
quarterbacks on scholarship.
So the competitive landscape probably looks a little different now that Harbaugh is here.
And my point wasn't that he was only considering Michigan because of Harbaugh...never meant that at all. I'm just saying it could've been a number of reasons beyond just the two the poster that I responded to swore by...
Very very disappointing if true. Seeing a lot of sugar coating on the thread - 6 weeks ago it was "Harbaugh can get any 5 star anywhere in the country to play for him, 5th best winning % all time, NFL staff" - then it was downgraded to "Harbaugh should be able to land a prime time 5 star QB - any he wants more or less - I mean Luck. Kids should cut off their non throwing arm to play for him"....now it's "its tough to get kids to come to Michigan because its cold".
Look this was the first QB Harbaugh went out to see after Jan 15th - he is a high target, Eason is a dream, Costello was reality. If he has dropped out without even wanting to come to Ann Arbor to meet Harbaugh on campus that's a pretty bad blow.
I finally got to the part of the thread that's about football.
How come the people in the back never move in this .gif?
I'm pretty sure that is a scene from the movie Dogma, and time is frozen around the main characters whilst some dilemna or plot point is laid out.
can consistently make good decisions and take care of the ball, they don't need to be world beaters.
We've been down the turnover machine route before. It doesn't end in glory.
griese also had like 35 future pros as teammates - i dont see um hitting that level again any time soon.
teams rarely win titles without dynamic QB play - its certainly been done, but it just makes the job that much harder for everyone else when teams arent scared of your QB
One of those future pros was Griese, he started around 100 games if memory serves me right. Not saying he was a pro bowler but still it takes a little talent to accomplish that.
Technically Griese was a Pro Bowler. Made it for this 2000 season but didn't play due to injury. I think his replacement was.... Elvis Grbac.
Your statement that team's can't win titles without dynamic QB play might have been true 20 years ago but the recent SEC NC run sort of refutes that statement. Other than Cam Newton I don't believe any of the recent SEC title team's have produced a legit NFL starting QB.
A dynamic college QB does not always have to turn into a legit NFL starting QB. Prime example: Tebow, Tim
Didn't Michigan, led by a QB that could never be accused of being dynamic, beat the dynamic college QB, Tebow, Tim?
It sucks, I guess, but there are definitely others. Makes sense considering where he's from, so I can't blame him for staying closer to home.
Well hell,
There's a reason California kids are such tough pulls out here. On to the next one........
I'm cool with Stanford, but SoCal's continued train of highly rated QB's when there are lots of opportunities at strong PAC-12 programs confuses the crap out of me.

but as long as Harbaugh can develop the less talented/ lower rated qb's then I'm fine with it. Keep in mind Cardale Jones was not a highly sought after qb. Win and the top recruits will come.
Although QB is a position of great need at the moment, doesn't having so many scholarship QB's hurt you by not being able to recruit to other positions?
He told our analysts he was still considering a visit either this week or next week, but told other reporters differently. It's looking less likely he visits, but he hasn't shut the door.

Stanford signed two QBs in 2011, Evan Crower and Kevin Hogan, and Hogan's the only one left from that year. Stanford signed no QBs in 2012. In 2013, they signed only Ryan Burns, a 4-star out of VA. In 2014 they signed only Keller Chryst, a 4-star from Palo Alto. Stanford signed no QBs in the 2015 class.
That means that the only real competition for playing time for Costello would be Burns and Chryst, and they're two and three years ahead of him. Contrast that with Michigan, where he would have a senior Morris, and Malzone, Speight, Gentry, and whoever else JH recruits in the 2016 class, plus maybe a transfer or two.
Not to mention Stanford's a great school in his part of the country, which is not featured on the Weather Channel for subzero temperatures.
Did Shaw learn nothing from Harbaugh on the importance of having a lot of shots at a great QB?
But would you really attribute Andrew Luck being great to all the QBs that Harbaugh brought in? Other than Luck, Stanford hasn't had too much success from the QB position. Harbaugh's QB strategy isn't responsible for Stanford's wins.
Just because Luck being great had nothing to do with bringing in 2 QBs a year, and Stanford hasn't had success outside of Luck at the QB position since 2008 does not mean the 2 QBs a year wasn't responsible for Stanford's wins. Bringing in a lot of QBs allowed Harbaugh to find one who could be great and given the quality of the QBs since Luck left he certainly would have brought in a lot more than Shaw has.
It is just fun talking about qb depth for once, even though they lack experience. Harbaugh will be able to develop a serviceable qb from this group. And if we get lucky maybe one of these guys is the next Tom Brady.
Meh, if it is true then it probably wasn't a good fit. There are other QBs, and Michigan will have their chances.

Well, if he views Stanford and USC as the two schools he's most inclined to actually want to play at based on this report, the fact that Harbaugh is the "best fit" for him is kinda irrelevant. Harbaugh is a great coach; he'd a be a great one for virtually every top QB in every class.
It sucks, but it's his loss if he would rather play for Shaw than Harbaugh.
I think Brandon Peters will be our guy.
Wasnt this kid a lock?
This California pipeline has kinda sucked so far
