Kirk Herbstreit...love?

I think I am starting to like Kirk Herbstreit a lot with what he said on Gameday just now. Great stuff! Lee Corso made me sad, but oh well.

A lot of people seem to hate Kirk Herbstreit to be honest ("hurr he's an OSU alum hurrhurr"), but he's honestly one of the most objective guys ESPN has on their staff. If anything, he's pro-Big 10, and the Big 10 needs all the people it can get in its corner.

But Desmond's comments just now are pissing me off. They continue to mislead on this practice story and how the locker room is split. And people start to believe this shit. I've never been this mad and anxious for a season opener.

He's been behind us so far this week. I also liked how the guy the sent to Ann Arbor for the game said that everyone has it wrong and this team is united around Rod. It was good to hear someone say what I had a feeling was true compared to the usual "this locker room is splintered" thing. The only thing that irked me a little from the Gameday talk was that it seemed like Herbie was more supportive of Rod that Desmond was.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but Desmond's words seem unsupportive. It's obvious he wanted Les Miles, but it almost seems like he is part of the anti-RR movement around Ann Arbor. Again, I'm probably just reading it wrong, but a little support would be nice.

He doesn't seem like he's part of the anti-RR crowd, he just seems like he needs to get over what he didn't get. Like when you don't get what you want for christmas and you're so disappointed. But eventually, you learn to love what you have. I guess some people just need their christmas presents to give them immediate satisfaction.

Herbie isn't bad but he REALLY needs to get off the Miami train. He says every single year that Miami is the team that could surprise. 2 years ago, he said Miami was a dark horse for the NC. Yeah. FAIL. This morning he said Miami could upset FSU and be a very surprising team this year. Geez, get over Miami Herbie.

I like all of the Gameday crew. Lee's getting old and his stroke will affect his speaking ability but I'll always respect him. Herbstreit is a really good commentator and is not biased against Michigan even though he went to OSU. Howard is also a good young commentator and it's cool how they have representatives of Michigan and OSU, the greatest rivalry in college football.

If Desmond truly thinks there is a "divide" in the locker room, then he needs to name names instead of being a coward. Otherwise, he should STFU.
