Kiffin takes a parting shot at UT?

Submitted by Crime Reporter on

Saw this on another board and wanted to share.

Kiffin was on the Jim Rome show and reportedly said something along the lines of: "Recruits weren't coming to Tenn to wear the yellow uniform. They were coming to play for this coaching staff."

How he could mistake the flame retardant orange for yellow is beyond me.

or did they just not care?

I understand that he probably put his best face forward, but I doubt his best face could cover all of the douchiness.

Kiffin: What did the five fingers say to the face?

Rome: I don't know, man...

Kiffin: Slap! (Slaps the shit out of Rome, sending his penciled-on goatee flying across the room)

Kiffin: Welcome to the China Club, a chinga-chang-chong!

The recruits were definitely not going to Tennessee to wear the yellow uniform . . .because the uniforms are orange. Did he really get the color wrong? Well, he certainly fits his new role at the University of Spoiled Children.

The thing that I can't get my arms around is how does this guy keeps falling forward?
This guy walks around stepping in post holes and nothing,he continues to get players, people to coach with him, jobs and a hot wife.
One would think that this guy couldn't get a date if he was walking thru an all womens prison with a fist full of pardons.
I don't get it.

Some people who are obviously incompetent also project an absolutely diamond-hard self-confidence and optimism that is completely unaffected by that incompetence. They're dumb enough to not know what they don't know, and thus are unhampered by the self-doubts and hesitations that normal people are subject to.

Of course, it takes two to tango, and these Masters of Bamboozlement also require a willing and gullible audience to succeed. Unfortunately, most 18- and 19-year old kids aren't mature enough to know when somebody is spit-shining a turd.

Here's to hoping that all the USC grads announce themselves as coming from "Pete Carroll's USC Trojans."

most USCers love the guy because of his douchiness. tennessee fans LOVED the guy because he was a dick. he's no more than a flashy car salesman but i'd bet most of his recruits look at the staff he has around him and are impressed by that more so than by him.

at least he hasn't told any recruits that God want them there, that we know of

Eh, they'll love him until the first loss to UCLA or Stanford or Oregon State, then they'll turn on him like wolves on a sick antelope. That's the problem for assclowns—people don't really like them, they just put up with them as long as they're successful. At the first sign of trouble, there's no reservoir of respect or genuine affection to moderate the hate.

I despised Carroll more than any other college coach except for Lane Kiffin, and I really have to hand it to USC that they replaced Petey with the best.

Rome:You used to be Lane Kiffin. Now you're Jane Kiffin.

Lane: If you call me Jane one more time you'll regret it.

Rome: Jane
(Lane flips the table and attacks Rome)

Are classless. Even when they are warranted. Lane Kiffin ran his mouth about how great his staff was going to make Tennessee, attacked other programs and coaches, and cheated. He left Tennessee vulnerable and left the second LA came calling.

He is classless trash and an absolute piece of crap.

I hope we play USC in the Rose Bowl next year...I would love that game.

and all the agonizing losses to USC since, there's no program in the country I want to beat more than USC. My dream scenario is to play them in the 2011 Rose Bowl, beat them 49-0, have Lane Kiffin get into fist fights with crazy Coach O on the sidelines, and THEN have them be put on probation by the NCAA.

Wow, crack is great stuff.
