Kiffin or Saban

So does Kiffin pass Saban now as the most vilified football coach outside of their current fanbase?

Honestly, I don't know enough about Kiffin to indict him. He had a dream job opportunity, he took it. Saban, on the other hand... I have it from a very reliable source (a D one head coach) that he is a capital d Dick and his own players don't like him. Look at the post NC celebration! No one was within five yards of him. And he was so pissed his shirt got stained red with gatorade he couldn't even celebrate. That man has very little joy in his life. Saban is a douche, no question, and more vilified. Kiffin is edgy, controversial, and reckless, but his douchiness is yet to be determined, IMHO.

???? WTF? Come on, get your head out of the sand. Even Kiffin's hot wife thinks he's a complete and total douche. EDIT. Hmmm... maybe I was too hard on you. I just read an article in the New England Journal of Medicine about "Douchiness Fatigue" which is an overall numbness or stupor resulting from a prolonged exposure to douchiness. The afflicted person is no longer able to discern douchiness.

A talk show host down here did a bit on "wouldn't it be funny if UT hired Saban away from Alabama." He wasn't serious but the tone definitely reiterated the recurring national theme of Saban scoring high as a football coach but exceedingly low as a human being. One of the reasons I only watched fifteen minutes of the MNC game was because I quickly grew tired of the announcers trying to "humanize" Saban, but not providing free vomit bags.

You leave a MAJOR SEC program after 1 year when they just let their long time coach that even won a MNC go? How can you not be the new #1 on the all time douche-scale because of this move?

You are going to honestly tell me you wouldn't do the exact same thing? What does Kiffin care about Tennessee? He is a California boy. He was a USC assistant for 6 years. He is going from the 6th best SEC team to the virtually uncontested top dog of the Pac Ten. He gets to recruit California now instead of rural TN. He gets a pay raise. Are you kidding? I don't care about the sanctions, this is the opportunity of a lifetime for this guy. USC is his DREAM JOB. Think about it this way: You are the head coach at Ole Miss. You have been there for one moderately succesful season. Your phone rings. It's Michigan, the school you have wanted to coach your whole life, and they say they want YOU as their head coach. Then, on top of it, they tell you that you can bring your father along as DC, and you get perhaps the best OC and recruiter in college football. And they are going to pay you more! Now I ask, would you EVER say no to this? You would say "to hell with Ole Miss" and you'd go to Michigan. Kiffin was afforded a much better opportunity, and he took it. 99% of the bloggers pissing on him would have done the exact same thing.
