Per anthem_1 (go give him an upvote):

Kickstarter hacked, user data stolen

The crowd-funding site says hackers broke into its systems and made off with data. Apparently credit card numbers escaped the attack.

Considering that a large number of regular users give every spring to make HTTV possible (as well as to other cuases), this is a very good thing to know. Thanks to both you and the poster in the hockey open thread for bringing this to everyone's attention. I did indeed just change my information.

thank you for the assist I Bleed Maize and Blue.  figured this might be important to a number of regulars around here.

Kickstarter is a website that MGoBlog used to crowd-source donations to fund the annual HTTV preview magazine for football, basketball and hockey.

it's a pretty popular site where creative types go to appeal to people to fund their ideas for magazines, games, music, art - etc.

There have been a few other kickstarts lately..  I know there was one on a documentary by one of the  players, and I forget whether Vincent Smith used it for the Pahokee greenhouse project. I think I participated in another one, but can't remember for the life of me what it was..

I was just about to post this, glad someone else beat me to it.
