Khalid Kareem to Bama

Submitted by CollegeFootball13 on

Disappointing, but best of luck to Khalid at Bama.

At least there's some good news possibly on the way later today.

Also: As a few posters in the comments below have said, Allen Trieu said Khalid was one of the "silent commits" that we've been hearing about over the past few weeks. Only 7 months til signing day!

Well when you hire a position coach who was just "fired" (Tosh Lupoi) for allegations of proving improper benefits, that kind of comes with the territory. It also happens to be Tosh Lupoi is the OLB coach, which is what Kareem is being recruited as...

He sounded like he was trying to contain his excitement when he spoke about Bama when he was discussing the three schools. I was hoping I was reading too much into it...but guess not.

Kid says he picked the them cuz he will have a chance to play early.... U freakin serious??! The former number one ranked played Dashawn hand has barely seen the field. Kareem won't touch the field til his senior year

They recruited Kareem as a Jack.

Now, I think they are selling something that isn't necessarily true (they recruited Hand as a Jack and he ended up on the DL) and that Kareem will eventually end up playing the 5 technique. But I think he would have at Michigan as well (Michigan was recruiting him as a Buck).

Alabama does often sell playing time, frankly because so many kids leave early and they redshirt very few FR. So he may have bought into that line of thinking, which they can sell based on the past, but I'm not sure applies to Kareem who I think is more of a project.

Tough loss, Michigan is going to have to find some DEs somewhere. Oh well, onto the next.

Absolutely not, at least not in the last week or so and not this morning. In fact, he said today that if distance wasn't an issue, he thought Kareem would commit to Alabama. Apparently distance was said to be an issue, but obviously that didn't turn out to be the case.

Can we stop with the SEC payz stuff every time a kid commits to an SEC school over Michigan? God forbid someone actually chooses Alabama (which has won 3 NCs in the last 6 years and has one of the best, if not the best, coaches in the country) for legitimate reasons.
