Prior to joining Harbaugh at Stanford, Tolbert worked with the Detroit Lions in 2008 as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Before making the jump to the NFL, Tolbert spent eight seasons (2001-07) at the University of Michigan as the Wolverines strength & conditioning coach.

Well, that explains why he is in the system already.

01-08? Wasn't that the time when Mike Gittleson was here?
Didn't everybody complain about Coach Git and love Barwis' arrival? Does this mean that Tolbert is like Git?
January 5th, 2015 at 2:12 PM ^
He posted this link in SEARCHBITS XXXII: FALLING INTO PLACE.
January 5th, 2015 at 4:11 PM ^
But just because he worked under Gittleson doesn't mean he does things the same exact way or hasn't learned other things along the way.
FWIW, Aaron Wellman was a Ken Mannie protege, yet that didn't prevent people from complaining how much stronger and faster MSU looked than Michigan.

How much "stronger and faster MSU looked than Michigan"...
Kind of like Max Bullough?

This name is new to the Michigan Directory. Since I am the one who gave the info out to begin with I know this. He wasn't in the directory two days ago and he's scheduled to be in Michigan tomorrow according to Angelique.

Didn't Marrow have a tempory uniqename as well that was posted in a thread yesterday?

January 5th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
I am pretty sure the poster linked both Marrow and Drevno.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:21 PM ^
I assume Hackett's is "Jim" and Harbaugh's is "Jim4" ?

not sure. did turley have one before the hello post?
January 5th, 2015 at 1:51 PM ^
Sounds good to me.
Great sleuthing...
January 5th, 2015 at 1:53 PM ^
thank you very much

longer.
January 5th, 2015 at 3:14 PM ^
as he was twice burned in the past 24 hours. Will keep hitting F5 anyways.
January 5th, 2015 at 1:55 PM ^
People who have worked at Michigan in the past (like Tolbert) but are no longer around still have uniquenames. For example, Hunter Lochmann still has a uniquename even though he is no longer working at Michigan. Ty Wheatley Sr. also has a uniquename, but he's listed as an alum.
The interesting one is Fred Jackson, who, if this is accurate, is listed as a retiree. https://mcommunity.umich.edu/#profile:fredjack

yeah good point. but for most people it would say something, like current student, alumni, etc. but for tolbert and also drevno, there's nothing yet.

I looked out of mere curiosity and I still have mine from the mid-late 1990s, although I am still a little put out that they will not let me list clever aliases under "Also Known As" - they just have my full legal name and ways I was probably known to sign documentation. It's quite boring really when they won't let you spruce up your own MCommunity profile like that.

I was listed under "Faculty and Staff, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics." All because I spent a few weeks in the autumns of 1992, 1994, and 1995 officiating intramural flag football for $4.80/hr.

Fred Jackson - Running Backs Coach Emeritus?

Uniqnames NEVER go away.
...and it's pretty difficult to get one changed.
If you've ever been a student or employee of the university, you'll have one.
January 5th, 2015 at 8:58 PM ^
I just checked and I had one.
And I graduated in 1978.

Great line and movie!!

I was basically at Michigan the same time as Tolbert, and I still have a uniqname. I consider this finding equivocal.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
I'm still unconvinced that Turley will not join us, and I favor his training philosophy. There may be some back and forth negotiations required and it may occupy time. I know less about Tolbert but have faith in all things Harbaugh. We'll get the best available trainer and implement the s&c approach that Jim believes in, possibly with some uncompensated assistance from Turley and others. I am not very concerned regardless of the hire even though the time is nigh. Excellence is underway.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
But I think after yesterday, we should wait until official announcements from the AD on our new coaching staff. 2 to 3 too many acceptances and declines in the past 24 hours. It's going to be a great week no matter who comes on board with Team Harbaugh.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:16 PM ^
There's also a "Daniel Jonathan Durkin" in the MCommunity. No idea what D.J.'s real name is though.
https://mcommunity.umich.edu/#profile:ddurkin
Edit: After further sleuthing, I didn't see a Jim Harbaugh or James Harbaugh in the MCommunity...everyone panic!!!
January 5th, 2015 at 2:22 PM ^
His first name is Daniel, not sure about his middle name.
See: http://www.gostanford.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30600&ATCLID=208440524 (under The Durkin File)
January 5th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
After some very basic googling of "Daniel Jonathan Durkin" this appears to be him as this person has lived in Menlo Park, CA and Gainesville and is 36 years old. I'm not going to do too much more speculating because of yesterday's craziness.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:51 PM ^
If I'm Harbaugh, I would request that they all have aliases until the official announcement, much like celebrities use fake names when they check into hotels.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:05 PM ^
I wonder how long before Harbaugh gets pissed at all the sleuthing and subsequent erroneous announcements on MGoBlog and gives Brian a call on the bat phone to Shut It Down.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:36 PM ^
If I were in his position, all of these rumors from insiders and (more recently) recruits, would drive me nuts. Fortunately, Harbaugh seems ambivolent to all of the misinformation, unless someone presses him for information.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:10 PM ^
what would be everyone's feeling about this hire?
seems a little uninspiring to me, but what do i know about s&c....
January 5th, 2015 at 2:11 PM ^
Man I have a uniquename and haven't been a student for a decade.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
January 5th, 2015 at 2:56 PM ^
He was probably added early this morning based on the assumption of the staff being finalized today and announced at noon. But the turn of events late last night turned things astray.
January 5th, 2015 at 2:34 PM ^
Between Gittelson and Brandon, I'd stay away from the stuff.
