Prior to joining Harbaugh at Stanford, Tolbert worked with the Detroit Lions in 2008 as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Before making the jump to the NFL, Tolbert spent eight seasons (2001-07) at the University of Michigan as the Wolverines strength & conditioning coach.

But just because he worked under Gittleson doesn't mean he does things the same exact way or hasn't learned other things along the way.

FWIW, Aaron Wellman was a Ken Mannie protege, yet that didn't prevent people from complaining how much stronger and faster MSU looked than Michigan.

People who have worked at Michigan in the past (like Tolbert) but are no longer around still have uniquenames. For example, Hunter Lochmann still has a uniquename even though he is no longer working at Michigan. Ty Wheatley Sr. also has a uniquename, but he's listed as an alum.

The interesting one is Fred Jackson, who, if this is accurate, is listed as a retiree. https://mcommunity.umich.edu/#profile:fredjack

I looked out of mere curiosity and I still have mine from the mid-late 1990s, although I am still a little put out that they will not let me list clever aliases under "Also Known As" - they just have my full legal name and ways I was probably known to sign documentation. It's quite boring really when they won't let you spruce up your own MCommunity profile like that.

I'm still unconvinced that Turley will not join us, and I favor his training philosophy. There may be some back and forth negotiations required and it may occupy time. I know less about Tolbert but have faith in all things Harbaugh. We'll get the best available trainer and implement the s&c approach that Jim believes in, possibly with some uncompensated assistance from Turley and others. I am not very concerned regardless of the hire even though the time is nigh. Excellence is underway.

But I think after yesterday, we should wait until official announcements from the AD on our new coaching staff.  2 to 3 too many acceptances and declines in the past 24 hours.  It's going to be a great week no matter who comes on board with Team Harbaugh.

After some very basic googling of "Daniel Jonathan Durkin" this appears to be him as this person has lived in Menlo Park, CA and Gainesville and is 36 years old.  I'm not going to do too much more speculating because of yesterday's craziness.

I wonder how long before Harbaugh gets pissed at all the sleuthing and subsequent erroneous announcements on MGoBlog and gives Brian a call on the bat phone to Shut It Down.
