That's true (and I don't mean to single out this poster) but there seems to be a general attitude on the board that it's only a matter of time before Tate quits us. If he hasn't gone yet, I don't think he's leaving any time soon.

he would still have 3 to play 2. He can
<br>leave after the bowl and still have 2 years of eligibility left. So I don't think it is a safe assumption that he will be here next year.

This was the year he was needed in EVERY sense of the word. To keep him after this season would be selfish. He's earned the right to helm his own team and I wouldn't be surprised if he left to do so. I would also thank him on his way. I'd love to keep him but he deserves to be the starter somewhere.

it would be no different then leaving after the bowl game..So why would he leave and sit 2 years instead of 1. I think Tate is gone unless RR is replaced with a coach who runs a more pro-stlye offense. I think Tate loves it here, but he is good enough to start and he knows it, unless he feels he has a good chance to start here next year..I just can't see him staying.

...the circlejerkers on here have short memories. They truly have lost any ability to be objective and rational when it comes to this team, especialy in light of how this season quickly unraveled.

I, uh, was not expecting this comment in this thread.

What?

Most expected 7-5 to start the year and that was before T-Woolf went down. We are where most expected us to be.

And noone expected PSU to be as bad as it was. When you start out 5-0 expectations change. when you go 2-5 in your last 7 and get blown out in all of your losses, yes the season unravelled.

J/k. I hate to see a kid decommit, but sometimes it cannot be helped.

Tim Duncan.
EDIT-Nothing to do with Sousa, but whenever I hear Wake Forest, I am reminded of my hatred of Tim Duncan and his stupid fundamentally sound bank-shots.

If we can't find a replacement QB, use the scholly for defense. Or a kicker.

Or a safety/kicker

He's grown used to playing behind a crappy Offensive Line on a below average team. Why mess with a good thing?
Just kidding, Deacons. Sorta.

So what are all the other available prospects? I'd hope we're looking more at QB/Ath types because given our current QB situation its likely that any QB taken in this class would probably need to see a position switch to see playing time after his RS year.

I certainly wish him the best of luck but this really isn't much of a loss. He probably wouldn't have seen much action for two years. Whether we change coaches or not next year, it still opens up another scholarship slot. These additional spots would be especially important if there is a regime change.

he is just gunna wreck RRs recruiting class.

if tate is going to stay then i dont see why we would need to scramble and take a QB thats not perfect. Lets wait and get Nick Patti

Wow. Just wow.

He will get a chance to see the field there so a smart decision by the kid. I am sure we can get similar talent in the 2012 class.
