Kevin Sousa at UF Friday Night Lights Camp
2011 Michigan commit QB Kevin Sousa (Lake Nona, FL) participated in UF's just completed Friday Night Lights camp. As you might expect most of the coverage of the camp have focused on the UF commits who participated and the fact that James Wilder didn't attend (fueling speculation that he's starting to favor FSU).
However, some observers offered their assessment of Sousa via twitter.
Yeah he looked real sharp liked him a lot RT @varsityblue @EdAschoffGSUN Did you see #Michigan commit Kevin Sousa at FNL? How did he look?
QB Kevin Sousa, a Michigan commit tossed some real good balls at Florida's Friday Night Lights event. His footwork was also impressive.
Kevin Sousa, a Michigan commit has thrown some good balls tonight.
I think when the season ends, we will see him ranked as a four star player. He has a great work ethic and attitude. Sousa is very raw, but with Rod Smith helping him, I think he will become a very good player.

To piggyback on this, I also am glad to see that Sousa is a big guy. Tate and Denard are awesome, but besides Denards recent swole gain, they are on the thin side for QB. Love hearing the news about Sousa and the fact that his footwork looked good shows good coaching by, I believe, coach Paradiso.
With the level of improvement we've seen Denard make in just one off-season, I have faith in our staff's ability to develop QB's. By the time Sousa even needs to be a back-up, he should be looking good. And big.
good to see we are finally starting to line up the studs again. the speed thang is sweet, but the size/speed/gun that Gardner and Sousa will be bringing to town is sweet.
no we need to start the middle linebacker strain and we will be getting somewhere.
As others have mentioned, he is the perfect QB commit for this class. He will be behind DG until he is about a junior. He will have 3 -4 years to continue to improve his technique and reads. I agree that he will be a 4-star recruit by next year. I always love getting more recruits from Florida.
I can't wait for a few years from now, when we get to see Sousa take over for a graduating DG, so I can count how many times variations of the phrase "Sousa marched Michigan down the field" are used.
Pretty sure it's pronounced "Sos-ah" as in Sammy Sosa.
of Competition, thats what I like so much about him
love that we're seeing Michigan coaches finding quality recruits before the rest of the world has discovered them. A good sign.
