Kentucky site compares Notre Dame this year to UM last year
UK blog site (http://www.aseaofblue.com/2015/3/28/8304713/kentucky-vs-notre-dame-a-st…) comparisons Notre Dame with last year's UM team:
The truth is that Notre Dame is a quality opponent, they went 3-1 against Duke and North Carolina this year. They are great offensively, well coached, and may have the best player on the floor in Jerian Grant. Notre Dame is basically 2014 Michigan wearing green and gold instead of maize and blue.
In essence, Kentucky has already played this game, it was in last year's elite 8 as well. The difference is that the Wildcats are much better this year.
Holy cow, UK's adjusted defensive efficiency is 84.7. That is incredible.
Much of this might be attributable to the weirdness of tournament games in general, but in the last three games or so, Kentucky's defensive PPP has been somewhere in the neighborhood of 0.71 or so. The actual spreadsheet with my information is at work on that drive sadly, so I am working from memory, but on a statistical basis, it definitely dwarfs, say, Wisconsin or Ohio State, for example.
Rather than think about last year's buzzer beater, here's something cool instead

I will never forget that shot and night.
Incredible.
Steve Kerr response: Are you kidding me!!!
I just watched this 50 times in a row.
Thank you for posting.
That will never get old!
I too was struck by ND's style of offense, and how similiar it looked to Michigan the past two seasons. Spacing, cutting, shooting, alley oops. Pretty basketball
UM wins that game easy if mcgary was healthy
But then if the Brow and Noel had stuck around...
Anyway, might-have-beens are waist deep in college sports.

But the difference is McGary was on that team. He was just not ready to return from surgery. If he'd been operated on earlier in the year, he'd have been out there.
Injuries happen everywhere, and in every instance where one has harmed our team, there is an example of one giving our team an un-earned opportunity to succeed.

Huh....I've forgotten everything that happened last year after the Texas game. I barely remember even playing Tennessee and I totally forgot about Kentucky until I saw them playing 2 nights ago. Meanwhile, I remember every moment of our tourney run in 2013. Weird because we did pretty well last year.
Not that weird, I'm the same. I watched every game last year. I can remember the Kentucky game, but the rest are just random nights and games to me now. I can give details of where I was and what I did for every game during the 2013 tourney.

Face it, not many people have the courage it takes to insist that he or she single-handedly determines what is thread-worthy and what is not. TLB has that kind of courage, and we should celebrate it by gazing in awe upon his Assholiness and chanting to him the Assholy mantra: "Owa Tafu L'Yuwar."

I buy the comparison, though Kentucky had a fair bit of luck in that game last year as well. ND is good enough to keep up with UK offensively, and if Grant really is a best player in this game I could see them pulling the upset, as annoying as that is to say about Notre Dame. This will be the first time UK has played a team like Notre Dame all year; Kansas, Louisville, and UNC were all good teams, but Notre Dame is like Michigan last year in that it is playing on another level offensively, and one good night is all they need.

Good game so far.
