Kentucky or Louisville?

Submitted by SamirCM on

Simple question though likely a complex answer, who do you prefer we play on Sunday? This isn't over who is likely to win today, but more who do we match up better against?

EDIT: My thought is that I would rather Michigan play Kentucky, the reasoning being that a barrage of 3's and a strong first half attack might rattle a young Kentucky team, whereas a great coach like Pitino will have better prepared his team to rally. That said Kentucky's talent is scary and it appears they are playing to form.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned much:

Give me Kentucky because I think Beilein gives us too much of an advantage of UK.  Those young kids, with fairly poor coaching, really puts us at an advantage.  Against Louisville, the coaching, experience, and seniority all limit that particular advantage.

I thought I was going to watch MSU v UVA on TBS but it clearly is the MSU network. The announcers are drooling over everything MSU does.

Revenge over Pitino and fing Hancock, beating "Big Blue" and Calipari, honestly as long as they get a chance to kick the shit out of MSU again does it really matter?

Either way, I am sure Michigan will get the benefit of being the concensus team picked not to win in the Elite 8.

Both teams look to be more athletic overall, but like the rest of the season, if Michigan can get into form shooting, and Robinson can show up again like tonight and Lavert can just calm down a little and let the game come to him, they should be fine against either team.  Gonna need Morgan and Horford to stay out of foul trouble though.

We will need to reduce our turnovers and nail 3's for any chance. And oh Morgan play your ass off.

is really terrible.  I thought he was sort of anti-Michigan but watching this UK-L'ville game, he's just really bad.  It's sort of unusual, he might've just crossed over to Verne Lundquist/Phil Simms territory of not totally gone, but no longer an asset.

When Verne's with Raftery the two of them have such good chemistry and are just having such fun, he's fine.  He may not know exactly who is who anymore, but he/they just enjoys things so much it's infectious.

Who cares that they were 2012 champs, beat #1 seed Wichita State, beat rival and defending 2013 champs Louisville, and have at least 5 NBA players on their roster....bring on Kentucky! Let's kick some ass Sunday!

There is only one team that is still playing from last year's Final Four.

National Champion Louisville?  Nope.

Wichita State?  Nope

Syracuse?  Nope.

It's Michigan.  Who would have thought that in December?

Welp.  I was pretty confident v Texas/Tenn despite the pundit love.  UK on the other hand I am fearful of due to size everywhere and of course young skill.  Reminds me of the Fab 5 teams that didnt win their conf, did some dumb things, but ran through a tourney.  Cauley-Stein injury will be interesting - if he plays they have 2 serious down low threats and Morgan can only play one.

Going need to play excellent Sunday.
