...D-1 basketball-level ups. That can't hurt.

...I feel bad for Kelvin. In his career as a Michigan athlete, he's always sacrificed personal goals for team goals. Rode the pine in basketball while many fans were clamoring for his PT. Grady never said a word publicly and remained a good teammate in the locker room. Went from starting slot last year to very limited role. Grady kept it quiet.
Now, he's being asked to switch to DB after showing everyone he can be a real contributor on offense. There's probably other slots or even split ends who played DB (with success) in HS, but the coaches probably know there's one guy who would do it b/c it's what the team needs, and he would do it willingly and not become a distraction in the locker room: Grady.
Hats off and standing ovation for Kelvin Grady.

I agree, but this is the expectation for a team player anyway.

Nah, I think Kelvin just switches before his playing time goes to absolutely zero at any one postion or sport, when everyone else is hotter or more energetic at the position than he is.

I find this hard to believe. Now if someone told me they were going to the 3-2-6 I might bite.

I guess I'll believe it when I see it. He had such a good scrimmage game at SR and just yesterday RR said he was not having offensive players switching to defense to fill spots.
Everyone is entitled to a change of opinion. Maybe they've sat down and watched film from the weekend and decided something had to change. Then again, it's about time that UConn begins some serious film watching and making a game plan. I wouldn't hurt to keep them guessing at what's happening all over the field.

part-time and is needed in a back-up capacity on defense, can he be a part-time 2-way player? Or is that day gone because of the practice commitments?

to the day M's defense will have 11 players playing the positions they were recruited to play.
Is this too much to dream?

I'm for it as well. If he was moving to/from any other position on the field, I would say no way but I'm ok with SR -> CB for a few reasons.
1. Depth at slot
2. CB is the easiest position on the field for making reads. You're either man up, deep third, deep half, or covering the flats... one of which is called for in the huddle, or a simple audible based on the formation of the offense. This is part of the reason why we were so excited about Christian and Dorsey being able to contribute early based purely on their footwork/athleticism.
3. Even if he only plays in obvious passing downs for the first few games, I still think having him on the bench at SR makes no sense considering our DB situation.
4. It will give us more to talk about over the next 11 days.

We need someone, anyone, who is fast enough to cover a wr in man coverage. Right now, our dbs can't. Grady could bring that quickness and athleticism. My big question is can he tackle. Dude is pretty skinny and hasn't played defense in, at the very least, a long time.

when his eligibility is up for being one of the most accommodating athletes in school history. Personally I'd like to leave him where he is and give him a shot to make something out of one role in one sport under one coach.

I want to wait until one of the coaches confirm the move. I find it confusing they would move him because he's had a really good camp.

We have got to have more bodies at CB and we are loaded at slot. A coach has got to make the tough calls. Im sure if he doesnt look good in practice he can always be moved back. Now is the time, he is a great athlete and he is tough and obviously a MIchigan Man. He's the type of kid who could pull it off. Plus, he could still play slot here and there especially if he's down the depth chart at CB

I think this is good news. I've thought for a long time that Grady has the body and athleticism to be a good corner.

I'm not sure anyone is concerned that they might have to change someone's number.
