Keep Things in Perspective
Tate was playing poorly for most of the game. He fumbled, fell down in the backfield, threw a pick, and probably should have been picked off a couple other times. Denard led the last TD drive and RRod went with the hot hand. You simply can't reward a player for performing poorly - it sends a message to the team that if you perform poorly you WILL be benched, no matter who you are. Just ask Cissoko. Sure, it would have been good to see Tate out there to try to win it, but the games this year aren't necessarily about this season, it's about developing players for the next couple seasons. So, enjoy the development of the players this year because they are preparing them to be game ready next year.

We are going to be a great team . We have lost by 8 points on the road and don't quit this is buidling a foundation for a great program in the future!

but I feel like Denard should have been in earlier... and to me if you want to win... you have to play tate at the end

trust me...the coaches aren't basing decisions on "rewarding" players.....this loss is on the entire team. I am so frustrated. BUT This program is getting there though...raw right now and still close...

Rich made the call. I like the move to fire up the team because Tate didn't have the team moving at the end and Drob made some good plays minus the pick at the end.

Absolutley correct statement but 4-2 is a great start and holding the 12th team in the nation to a 2 point win even though losing shows great progression! I'm very excited for the rest of the season and next season!

Seriouly, we are not winning a natty cha cha this year. And lets be serious a Big Ten championship is/was totally a pipe dream. I hate seeing this team lose games. But, 7-5 8-4 9-3; does it really matter this year?
I promise you if RR really thought putting tate in would win more games this year than putting denard in, he would have done it.
I stopped questioning the coaches after the 3rd quarter of this game. The entire game against Sparty I bitched and moaned for the coaches to bring pressure, and why the hell is a walk on playing and not Williams. So this game what happens? Williams is in and they blitz. Long td after long td and Willaims holding his jock in his fucking hands. These coaches have forgot more about football than we will ever know. Seriously people, you know nothing, stop acting like it.
