I feel bad for the kid he hit. You could hear it in press box.

good downfield blocking from Crawford too... but beautiful cut back & strong running from Higdon finished it

Just watched it again. Wow. Henderson crushed that dude.

I've been meaning to talk to Bobby Henderson. He should probably find a safe house somewhere and lay low for a while because he's probably wanted for murder.

He is appreciated by me.

He has a burst, power, and balance. He should be getting more carries. I love Deveon but the difference in skill level is staggering.

Higdon > Weber
October 22nd, 2016 at 11:33 PM ^
Higdon vs PSU: 9 carries, 81 yds (9.0 avg), 40 long, 1 TD
Weber vs PSU (thru 55 minutes*): 21 carries, 71 yds (3.4 avg), 23 long, 0 TD, fumble (rec)
Excising their long run:
Higdon 8 carries, 41 yds (5.1 avg)
Weber 20 carries, 48 yds (2.4 avg)
*...i'm going to bed, in case dewey defeats truman.

I agree. But I feel there is a bonus given to all of our backs when they run vs a defense that has been punished by Deveon Smith. He deals so much C pain and power and relentlessness that I'm certain it benefits our other backs.

Love me some Karan Higdon. I honestly think he's our best running back. We have a bright future back there with him, Evans and the incoming freshmen. Not to mention Kareem Walker who has the potential to be a stud as well.

I really like his game. Makes good cuts, attacks holes with power. Good balance. It really is pretty awesome having him as part of a four-headed rushing attack. Hopefully Evans is back next week healthy and ready to play, too!

Henderson and the rest have been blocking well all year.

Should really be able to help us going forward. Our backs all bring something to the table. The line is really moving people.

Crazy day that was! Very happy for him and the program. He's a great kid and Michigan is simply the best school in America.

I don't remember this - what's the summary story?

I would like to see him get more carries. Smith is looking slow again and I'm concerned there may be an injury issue. Higdon is our best pure runner, and Evans is probably the runner up.
Would love to see Higdon get more carries the rest of the way.

thanks for keeping us updated on him. I love all the guys in the winged helmet, but it's been fun cheering for KH, with a little bit of a "he's one of ours" feeling, thanks to your connection to him. I hope he continues to get an increasing number of carries - he's doing good things on the field (and apparently in the classroom too - love it!).
October 22nd, 2016 at 7:57 PM ^
pick up, which seems to be where the younger guys are behind Smith? Good to see.
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:01 PM ^
I love Higgy's running and always have, since first seeing his HS tape.
When Harbaugh picked him up late on signing day, stealing him from Iowa (AIRBHG was pissed!).... I looked at his film and said "Wow!...this kid has Great Feet, Nice Vision, Sharp Cuts and a Burst". I had no problem with trading Weber for Higdon. Some other people here agreed with me, perhaps you.
Bottom line is that Mike Weber is a good power back, but Higdonis is great Running Back and home run hitter.

He's so special.. elite speed and quickness, very good vision, and solid power for a back his size. He can even pass block already. I'm looking forward to him and Evans as a nice 1-2 punch with Evans also getting an expanded role in the slot.
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:01 PM ^
Well, maybe next year.
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:02 PM ^
I think at this point, with maybe the exception of pass pro (which is certainly crucial), he is clearly the team's most complete back. Not quite Evans speed, but not too far off. Better vision. Not quite Smith's tackle breaking ability, but enough to make the speed and vision tradeoff worth while.

Higdon is faster than Evans.

Higdon has a choppy sort of stride and he is definitely faster than he looks. His burst after the first cut is insane, and when combined with a good dose of power, vision and low pad level makes him a threat to get to the Second Level very quickly and quite often. Once he is in the Second Level he has the juice to get to the end zone.

Tell him we are proud of him! So glad he's in the Maize and Blue!

I actually think Higdon runs with more power than Weber despite the size difference.
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:27 PM ^
He is running really well right now. That last cut he made on his TD run, that sort of "jump back" to let that Illinois defender go past him was beautiful.

Let he and Evans be a lesson for those who bitch about three stars
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:49 PM ^
Point taken but Evans was a 247 composite 4* (#9 all purpose back).

curious but how do these families often move so easily. do they have jobs that are easy to leave and find again????

Higdon had a message for MSU after the game ? What was it ?
October 22nd, 2016 at 8:58 PM ^
"Yeah, the beat us last season, we remember it, but it's not who wins the battle, it's who wins the war. We're gonna win the war..." something like that.

I stood in the stadium this afternoon wondering smith was he was getting so many more carries than higdon. Higdon did a great job job.

Runs low to the ground. Shifty. Sturdy. Has great burst. RB stable is LOADED. And it's only going to get better.

Yes. I've been wanting to see him get more touches. Just seems to explode into the hole once it opens and seems to play faster than every other back. The only one close is Evans. During the game, I was thinking about how proud of him you must be.
