Kalis officially decommits from OSU
Snagging visits from their top two recruits feels so good. This is the first time I am really feeling like Michigan is turning the corner with the rivalry. Cheers to everyone.
Turning the corner will certainly help when you have the opportunity to put players like Kyle Kalis in the maize and blue. All of these O-Line recruits are driving me nuts SOOO many talented players taking a long hard look at what the maize and blue can offer
Let's develop that O line so Devin and Morris can dominate. My wish list is getting out of control.
We will also need receivers to do this (going to be light on them after this year...).
Dunn, Burbridge, and Stanford will also help.
I am in the middle of watching Hardcore Pawn on tru tv and got to this on a commercial break,...can we all say BA BOOM, now with this update.
The nuclear reactor in C-Bus is on overload mode! ..Hope we can land him after this weekend.
If someone with a speech impediment says what I'm watching, it sounds a lot like "Hardcore Pawn"
A speech impediment. They could be from Boston which ... yeah ....
When was the last time that Michigan took a recruit right off the bucknut list? Got to be early Carr years I think.
Crable?
An Ohio site is running with Dunn being gone this evening as well.
Looking for more info on this but this rumour also has a legit feel too it. If so, I think we can say the recruiting wheels have officially fallen off the bus...
TomVH just retweeted the following: RT @GerdOzone: I would be pretty surprised if Kalis is the last five-star recruit to decommit from Ohio State this week.
There are these as well from @GerdOzone (TheOzone):
I've been told that Brionte Dunn is already gone, but that was told to me more as an inevitability rather than something immediate.
I would be pretty surprised if Kalis is the last five-star recruit to decommit from Ohio State this week.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. Dunn's entire story lately has been that he wants to see what the fallout will be. Well, they already had that top 2011 kid decommit, and now their top 2012 kid is gone. Couple that with coaching uncertainty and future sanctions, and if I'm watching this I start thinking that maybe I should join Kalis at Michigan, which is up-and-coming. The sanctions will only help us further, but things are already falling apart down there in C-bus.
Why not come where we will need a great running back to rely on in the future. Especially when he sees the huge man bear pig lineman we are in on. They will create monsters holes for him he will have no trouble being a star running back up here
Who wouldn't want to run behind our "nasty" lineman, Magnuson and Kalis
Diamond, Peat, Banner, Thurston any others?
Garnett.
Olson and Bars are also in the conversation, but according to some, they would rather those two hold off until the interest of the rest quells. While I agree with that sentiment (getting the top talent), I also think whoever is blue is blue.
I think those two train of thoughts are so difficult to balance..you want people here that will bleed maize and blue, but you want those kids that can contribute early and often and continue the trend of sending players to the NFL
Yeah, my main problem is how the people who want the talent have come off. I mean, I understand how they're feeling. I want those players too. At the same time, I think we shouldn't be down on players who choose to come to Michigan, even if they aren't as highly rated by the recruiting sites. These guys will be Wolverines, like many of us.
If Dunn is definitely decommitting I wonder if it changes what will be said to Alden Hill on his phone call with the coaches on Wednesday.
a shimmering .gif version of this? If so, I would enjoy seeing it again.
Ask and ye shall receive:
I don't know how twitter works, is that TomVH saying that, or someone saying it to him? If its the former, that means something big.
He's saying what someone else said. But if tom's retweeting something, I'd say it's solid...
It is the latter -- TomVH is "retweeting" what someone else tweeted. However, Tom wouldn't have done that if he didn't think that the source was reasonably credible.
is the guy who runs the OZone site for OSU, Tony Gerdeman. The Michigan Mondays guy. He's totally legit.
That's it
OSU fans are melting down. It's incomprehensible to them that anybody would decommit, and potentially go to Michigan. A quote from one hurt Buckeye,
"One thing I also look forward to is the revenge factor against these recruits that spurn us for other schools. I think the recruits that are apart of this OSU class will hold a grudge against the kids who rejected us, especially the scUM kids."
This is only the beginning, things are going to get much worse.
"that are apart" <---- my favorite part
I'm friends with Kalis on Facebook (Yes, I know. I'm even friends with other recruits/commits too), and the last three posts on his wall are about Micigan. While it could just be random fans like me, it could also be his friends, which could mean he's been talking about Michigan to them. I dunno, just food for thought I guess
I sure hope you are under the age of 18.
assumptions.
The meltdown is on, baby. The way they are talking over there, even if Kalis decided he wanted to go there he would probably forget it.
Somebody called them out over there, asking if they fel the same way to Justin Boren as they did to Kalis...I would be this existence on that board can be counted in seconds before he is banned.
Come on over to the good side, Kalis!
but getting Kalis in the fold probably doesn't hurt matters.
Gut feel or you have something or someone who knows differently?
No, I have no connections whatsoever, just a hunch. Probably just my inner pessimist trying to keep the optimist in me at bay before my hopes get too high.
You have to be positive. I didn't think we get Strobel and i though Kalis would stay with OSU. Stranger things have happened.
He doesn't seem to be in a huge hurry to commit elsewhere, and Tom mentioned in this article that he is visiting Happy Valley sometime soon. I don't know, it just seems so unlikely that not one, but two 5 star born and bred Ohio kids would decommit from OSU and go to Michigan. I mean, doesn't that sound like some kind of strange (and awesome) parallel universe?
However, Dymonte Thomas has stated in articles that we're his number one, and he's planning to brig Dunn with him to the ND game. I'm sure Dunn wouldn't mind going to school with his cousin.
Not sure if the would want to compete against each other for 3 out of their 4 years
I know he's primarily a RB in high school, but for some reason I thought we were looking at Thomas for defense. Specifically safety? I guess I'll need someone else to confirm.
Correct, we're recruiting Thomas as a Safety, at least so far we are.
It sounds like payback for Justin Boren.
I have a friend who's a diehard OSU fan. We go at it on Facebook during football season. One of his OSU friends sent me a picture of himself with Justin Boren and Justin's dad, and asked me, "Do you know who this is?" I think I might have to send back a picture of Kalis and say, "Hey, do you know who this is?"
He was expressing interest in Mihigan even before the tsio stuff really blew up
