Five star tackle Kyle Kalis has decommitted from Ohio State. Story on Scout.com.

BOOM!

I'm excited more as a Michigan fan, than as an OSU hater.  These kids hate letting people down, and understandably so, so lets try to downplay the OSU aspect and cheer the potential of getting a 5*.  Clearly, this was a tough decision for Kyle.

Also see statement from Tom VH below.

Snagging visits from their top two recruits feels so good.  This is the first time I am really feeling like Michigan is turning the corner with the rivalry.  Cheers to everyone.

Turning the corner will certainly help when you have the opportunity to put players like Kyle Kalis in the maize and blue. All of these O-Line recruits are driving me nuts SOOO many talented players taking a long hard look at what the maize and blue can offer

There are these as well from @GerdOzone (TheOzone):

I've been told that Brionte Dunn is already gone, but that was told to me more as an inevitability rather than something immediate.
I would be pretty surprised if Kalis is the last five-star recruit to decommit from Ohio State this week.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised.  Dunn's entire story lately has been that he wants to see what the fallout will be.  Well, they already had that top 2011 kid decommit, and now their top 2012 kid is gone.  Couple that with coaching uncertainty and future sanctions, and if I'm watching this I start thinking that maybe I should join Kalis at Michigan, which is up-and-coming.  The sanctions will only help us further, but things are already falling apart down there in C-bus.

Yeah, my main problem is how the people who want the talent have come off. I mean, I understand how they're feeling. I want those players too. At the same time, I think we shouldn't be down on players who choose to come to Michigan, even if they aren't as highly rated by the recruiting sites. These guys will be Wolverines, like many of us.

OSU fans are melting down. It's incomprehensible to them that anybody would decommit, and potentially go to Michigan. A quote from one hurt Buckeye,

"One thing I also look forward to is the revenge factor against these recruits that spurn us for other schools. I think the recruits that are apart of this OSU class will hold a grudge against the kids who rejected us, especially the scUM kids."

This is only the beginning, things are going to get much worse.

I'm friends with Kalis on Facebook (Yes, I know. I'm even friends with other recruits/commits too), and the last three posts on his wall are about Micigan. While it could just be random fans like me, it could also be his friends, which could mean he's been talking about Michigan to them. I dunno, just food for thought  I guess

The meltdown is on, baby.  The way they are talking over there, even if Kalis decided he wanted to go there he would probably forget it.

Somebody called them out over there, asking if they fel the same way to Justin Boren as they did to Kalis...I would be this existence on that board can be counted in seconds before he is banned.

Come on over to the good side, Kalis!

He doesn't seem to be in a huge hurry to commit elsewhere, and Tom mentioned in this article that he is visiting Happy Valley sometime soon.  I don't know, it just seems so unlikely that not one, but two 5 star born and bred Ohio kids would decommit from OSU and go to Michigan.  I mean, doesn't that sound like some kind of strange (and awesome) parallel universe?

It sounds like payback for Justin Boren.

I have a friend who's a diehard OSU fan. We go at it on Facebook during football season. One  of his OSU friends sent me a picture of himself with Justin Boren and Justin's dad, and asked me, "Do you know who this is?" I think I might have to send back a picture of Kalis and say, "Hey, do you know who this is?"
