Five star tackle Kyle Kalis has decommitted from Ohio State. Story on Scout.com.

BOOM!

I'm excited more as a Michigan fan, than as an OSU hater.  These kids hate letting people down, and understandably so, so lets try to downplay the OSU aspect and cheer the potential of getting a 5*.  Clearly, this was a tough decision for Kyle.

Also see statement from Tom VH below.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually feel a little bad for (some) OSU fans.  They aren't the ones who cheated, and it has to be devastating to find out -- in a matter of months -- that your beloved team's successes are tainted and its future looks horribly grim.  It makes me even angrier with Tressel, Gene Smith, and the rest of those d-bags for what they've done to college football.

with this level of infighting?  If the fan base divides, the program falls.  Osu, like any other program, relies on a unified fan base to fill its stadiums and buy its merchandise.  What are they going to do if suddenly half of Columbus doesn't want to buy Osu welcome mats?

A player turning on the school he loves because of a change in values/leadership. I dont think the comparison is sloppy. Different circumstances, but the same variable caused the change of heart in both scen

My favorite part of all of this is how OSU fans were like "WHEW, CARGATE IS POSITIVELY RESOLVED" and then BAM!  Those guys can't catch a break... and it is delicious.

I fear for this kid's mental stability and all-around safety if he ends up going Blue. The level of class that a lot of tOSU fans will handle this with will be nothing surprising.

Go Blue Kyle, and see the true nature of your "fans".

Not that most of us were the ones doing such actions, but those in glass houses should not throw stones: plenty of UofM fans felt the need to tweet and fb Darius Morris about his mistake, his betrayal to the program, failing in the pros, and just plan old anger and frustration. We didn't exactly see the good side of the UofM fanbase.

Wow!  An Ohio fan talking about someone's word not being any good.  Hilarious.  Let's see a head coach repeatedly lies and even signs a document that is a lie versus a high school kid who gave a verbal.  Apples and oranges but what should I expect.

"I think its absurd to let kids like Kalis hold THE Ohio State program hostage because we won't name Fickell HC. I have no problem with him choosing to go to that $hit hole to finger bang Stroebel if it means we bring in a guy like Meyer or Pelini, etc. Fickell has proven nothing. I like his heart, I like what he said in the press conference, but lets be serious. Ohio State is one of the top three programs/jobs in the country. There are a ton of coaches gnawing at the bit to jump on board. Lets see what we can do after August."

Who wouldn't want to deal with a fanbase like that?

I would never pay a red cent to be a member of 247, but I'd be willing to donate an extra couple bucks to my church to read the Bucknuts message board right now.

Go Blue!
