Justin Hilliard releases top 5 (UM included)
Top ranked LB recruit, Justin Hilliard of Cincinnati, OH, released his top 5 this morning. Appears to be heading towards a summer decision:

And I perused the other tweets he is receiving and seems like everything is above board for the most part, but there are "fans" tweeting at him. smh. Don't do it, folks. No need to go there at all.
don't tweet and drive, either. /s
Seriously though - anyone know what his decision timeline is like? Will he be at the BBQ in the Big House? I need info, stat!
(And I might need to not care so much about recruiting :) )
Me with recruits:
For the record I don't even have a twitter. It's too newfangled for my taste. #getoffmyrotaryphone
So that's Bama, NDU, Iowa, Michigan and Ohio State. Midwestern schools, with a dash of Saban to keep things spicy.
I'm a rebel.
Oh, Shit...Ole Miss is in play, too. This sucks.
The Brand. The Brand. The Brand.
I was going to start reading into the colors that are used to shade the coaches and then I realized that it wasn't a hidden message but just some well thought out color scheming.
So these are his primary targets?
at least one of each teams colors are also represented, as long as you don't get picky about gold/maize/yellow, crimson/scarlet/red.
I imediatly saw maize and blue in he center and got excited and then thought about it a moment longer. I am aware it means nothing.
Is it me or does ND's color look a little purple. It reminded me of this:
Symmetry FTW
Saban is the only one smiling.
Is this a clue...like some of the "Paul is dead" clues in many Beatles' songs/album covers?
That's actually a pretty cool graphic. I hear there are some openings in our graphic arts department in the football program after some recent snafus so he can bring more than just football skills to Ann Arbor.
i think we can cross off iowa.
I was wondering how Iowa got in there. Not that I despise Iowa, despite our years of futility against them. But you so rarely see them in on top recruits. I found it almost benign that Hilliard included them, but the brother thing explains it.
So not so fast my friend. They were one of the first in on his recruitment, and family already there. I would guess he doesn't end up there, but I do think they are still a threat.
Maybe he didn't do it, but that's a little bit fancier than most people just tweeting their top 5. Maybe Michigan should hire him for the promos they send to recruits.
On a sidenote, why does Saban look so happy in that picture? Surely that is not the real Saban, Saban has never been happy, ever. Also, Urban is clearly thinking about Pizza.
"Deep dish or thin crust...deep dish or thin crust...."
Was very Amercian of him.
With our recent success or lack there of I don't have a good feeling when Satan, Urb, and Chip are also in his top 5.
The grandfather from "Talladega Nights."
All he ever did was make a hot daughter.
gonna come after you like a Spider Monkey. I am all hopped up on Mountain Dew....
...we don't have a shot.

If the B1G loses Hilliard and Cornell to the SEC, it will be a huge blow. The league has got to keep its elite talent and pick up occasional flyers in the south if we want to be competitive again with the southern schools.
Cornell seems very high on the Spartans so I'd be happy if he goes to the SEC.
I liked the little mural he used to designate his tip 5. A for effort.
Now pick us, please.
heard he was a hard lean there
Good news, however, would be shocked if he comes here. Why would be come here over Alabama or OSU? We have a potential coaching situation upon us if we struggle this year and we have not been a nationally relevant program for close to 8 years now.
1. Saban and Meyer are self-righteous pricks.
2. Academics, i.e. The Michigan Difference
3. The Team, The Team, The Team
4. Saban and Meyer are self-righteous pricks.
Really? I think a top recruit cares more about going to a program that will get him tons of exposure and land him in the NFL rather than on going to school with great academics. Also, he might really like Hoke, however, it is far from certain that he will be employed here when he sets foot on campus.
like Peppers? It happens, ya know.
It does happen and I hope it does, however, wasn't Peppers a huge Michigan fan growing up? I think he is not a representative sample of a top recruit who was really up for grabs.
but there's reasons why he was. Some of those I mentioned. And you wanted to know why someone would pick UM over those other two schools and I gave you four valid ones. Yes, I said four.
I agree you gave me four reasons. I think one of them was valid. Yes, I said one.
and you should stop liking yourself like that. You'll go blind.
when he sets foot on campus.
You are ignoring the attrition that took place and the young players that are coming up. In addition you have the makings of a very talented class regardless of whether Hilliard comes.
I'd say it's doubtful Michigan trashes the progress being made any time soon. I'm not going to say Hoke is the best coach in the country. The jury is out although the one year he had talent on the team they did very well. They also have Nuss and Mattison and I don't think the two of them are idiots. I think just below this is a quote from Hilliard calling Mattison a genius.
Luckily I think most recruits do not have your view of the program.
I think it's doubtful that he comes here but it's more because the competition is tough and only one can win.
I didn't say Hoke won't be employed here or that its likely he won't be employed here. Only that its far from certain that he will be employed here. I think thats an accurate statement. Don't get me wrong, I like Hoke, however, if he has another season like last year and 90% of you guys will be calling for his head.
If someone tells you that it's a nice day, do you reply with, "Yeah, but the sky is falling".
No . . . but if its cloudy, I would probably say "Yeah, but it might rain."
Seems like you might be more like, "Yeah, but there's one cloud in the sky."
Eleven Warriors has a new post in which Hilliard breaks down his top five, saying this about Michigan:
"I've been up to Michigan so many times. I feel comfortable with the players up there and the coaches too. They have a great game day atmosphere and Coach (Greg) Mattison is a football genius."
