“Hey Justice, I noticed you taped your knee up a little higher than normal—what’s that about?”

“Well, you know, Justice Hayes has to do what’s best for Justice Hayes, you know. I mean, if Justice Hayes feels that Justice Hayes needs to tape his bat up higher, to be the best Justice Hayes that Justice Hayes can be, then Justice Hayes is going to tape his bat higher in way that Justice Hayes can perceive, as Justice Hayes can, to be the best Justice Hayes that Justice Hayes can or will or want to be as Justice Hayes qualifying in a Justice Hayes-esque type of way to be a Justice Hayes for which all Justice Hayes’ around us, being one Justice Hayes to speak through Justice Hayes as vessel to reach all Justice Hayes’ out there in the world in a qualitative Justice Hayes-esque magnanimous display of Justice Hayes-tude and quality that you can find only in Justice Hayes as Justice Hayes as want to do for Justice Hayes being Justice Hayes as Justice Hayes.”

“You come in here, ‘Justice, how come you taping your knee,’ you know, Justice Hayes is going to answer you in a way that Justice Hayes can to be—in fact, that reminds me, I got to give that motherfucker phone call, you know. Uh-huh, that’s right.”

[Phone rings a few times, machine picks up]

[Message] “Hi, this is Justice Hayes. Justice Hayes is not available right now, but if you leave your name and number, Justice Hayes will get back to you when it is best for Justice Hayes to do so [beep].”

“Justice Hayes pick up”“Pick up the phone Justice.”“Justice Hayes, pick up the phone.”“Pick up the phone Justice!”“Justice, pick up the phone!!!”“It’s me—you! God damn, that motherfucker’s never there!”

That music as well as the premise of a "dramatic look" was taken from a classic cheesy 80s horror flick entitled "Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror."  Here is the original clip that inspired this video.

Sorry if I came across that way, its been a rough few days. I'm pretty sure there has been discussion on this before, but IME, it's a little weird to be fb friending 15/ 16/ 17 y.o. kids just so you can keep up with what they have to say on a daily basis, but that's a topic for another day.

Anyway, I didn't mean to be a db. The info seems to be much appreciated.

I used to think the same thing but really, this is pretty much the entire premise of twitter. I came around when I realized this - it's not quite as weird as I once thought.

Twitter is different, though.  On Facebook, you can view their wall, watch high school internet drama play out, look at their pictures, see their relationship status, etc.

I'm guessing most fans who friend recruits are just looking for quotes to scroll down the News Feed and not trying to pry into personal lives, but some will obviously take it too far.

Bryan, I'm with you on what you're trying to say.  For me, (at age 25) my girlfriend would look at me funny if I told her I was FB friends with a HS'er I didn't even know, because Michigan is recruiting him.  (Unless I'm someone like TomVH.)

The last few seasons I'd be the first to jump on the "yeah...because that's not creepy..." train, however Facebook has sort of turned into Twitter.  People log on just to update status and get comments.  Being a Friend of someone's on FB does not necessarily mean you will communicate directly with them per se, you could just follow them for your news feed.

Justice Hayes re-iterating his interest in Michigan shows that he is taking a more measured response than the majority of us on this board

I used to want him on the team then an unsubstaniated report said he insulted us and I loathed him. Now I want him on the team again and he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

how these interviews must be going when kids later come out and say they were misquoted. in this instance, what must he have said? what question was asked? was he relaying a message from someone else? tricky stuff

I'm not sure what context "Michigan is a sinking ship" could have been said in for it not to be negative.

This could just be a case of "I wish I didn't say it, so I'm blaming the reporter."

That was my first guess, but it still could have played out like this:

Reporter: What if [insert bad scenario - i.e. bad 2010 season, Rodriguez either fired or might be after Hayes would commit]?

Hayes: I don't think I can put myself in that (hypothetical) situation (which you brought up).

Reporter: What if [insert bad scenario - i.e. bad 2010 season, Rodriguez either fired or might be after Hayes would commit]?

Hayes: Some people have warned me that Michigan is a sinking ship, but I am going to wait and see how they do this season ....

You're the reporter, you can either a) print the boring "see how they do" comment, or b) print "MICHIGAN IS A SINKING SHIP", what do you do?

Which one gets more buzz, clicks, etc.? What's the risk the kid can effectily retract the statement before that buzz, or those clicks occur?

Yeah . . . I don't buy his retraction.  I know reporters are sneaky and everything, but there aren't many questions that could entice those words to come out of a kid's mouth.

Regardless . . . I think we have bigger fish to fry at the running back position.  I hope Hayes ends up at Northwestern, Wisconsin, etc.

Reporters Sure Know How To Be Slick Boy..

If he's just now finding this out, obviously Justice didn't read any of Snyder's or Rosenberg's articles in the freep.

In my experience, 16- and 17-year-olds don't really know or care about how the newspaper business works.  Even if he did read Snyder/Rosenberg's articles, he wouldn't necessarily know that "slick"-ness was used.

Maybe this is why we don't hang on the words of teenagers?

I don't give a rats ass what Justice Hayes did or didn't say, and I don't think most of you do either, but some of y'all love to argue and any stupid subject will suffice.

Here's hoping Justice attends Northwestern.
